Politics

I'm a proud Filipino by blood and by heart. Nevertheless, I'm not the most patriotic person alive to brag about my comment on your insights about the administration. It is not my intention to prove you wrong nor prove myself a well-inclined politics person, if that's how you'd call it. You asked why we make things complicated despite the fact that the main key to peace would be righteous reasons and silence. Technically, in the world we live in, there will only be black and white. The fine line in between would never be gray. It is a clear distinction of differences. I know that the intention of your letter was to spread awareness that Filipinos should unite to be able to make our country a much better place to live in. That we shouldn't just base our opinions on what the media says...

Okay this is getting to be high school all over again. The election is over. Hillary may not have won the Electoral College but won the popular vote with the help of states with large populations. Trump won the Electoral College but not the popular vote. The United States is a Republic not a true Democracy because our forefathers thought a true democracy wouldn't represent all the people. These are the facts. We have two opposing opinions on how we should be governed and both sides are acting like teenagers that aren't getting their way. We now have adults who should be rational human beings calling those with a different view in life names and other insulting phrases. When did the United States revert back to high school? Do any of you think it would be fair for...

On October 17th, 2016, the real Julian Assange was removed from the Ecuador Embassy in London and traffic camera photos posted at http://reddit.com/r/whereisassange prove it. The world has seen these CIA kidnappings before. They are called renditions. details provided in below links). At the same time Julian was cut off from the internet and Wikileaks was compromised. Since then, Wikileaks has been operated jointly by the CIA/NSA as part of their Operation Mockingbird project - to be a honeypot trap to identify government leakers and potential whistle blowers. (About Project Mockingbird: http://spartacus-educational.com/JFKmockingbird.htm) But scrutiny from 1.2 million Twitter accounts and 17,000 redditors at Where is Assange forced them to create the Pamela Anderson ruse and most...

For lack of a better way to write this and so much to say I'm just going to bullet point what I want to say. First I am a 54 year old woman who votes, is aware of what is going on. I was born and raised in Chicago and spent the last 16 years across the street from O'Hare. Section 1 The Elector job as I see it is to use some of these, and more I assume, guidelines to see who best fits those. These are ones I am always going back to in my arguing. 1. If one possesses at least one of the following criteria they are unfit. He fits all three: Unfit, Demagogue and holds an enormous amount of Conflicts of Interest. 2. You are supposed to elect the most qualified. 3. While I understand this is a daunting decision, I strongly believe that personal feelings, religion and politics should be...

A hero is a great man or woman of distinguished bravery whose lifetime impacted positively on his or her immediate environment, while inspiring hope and positivity on its people.I never quite understood the full demographics of this concept and least of all I didn't expect that a woman will exemplify and bring home this reality as passionately and explicitly as you did. Women all around the world and men alike have discarded their cloak of low self esteem because of the audacity and impetus you displayed, by challenging the status quo, one that relegates the gender and people of colour to the confines of no importance.Your legacy is one that inspires hope and confidence in the hearts of the low and downtrodden, you may not have returned with a victory from the polls but you have won an...

I admit, until the Election, I felt the same way a lot of people did about the Electoral College. I thought this was rigged system that didn't represent the people. Boy was I wrong. I admit, I WAS WRONG. I was ignorant of exactly what it was BECAUSE I believed what I was told; that the United States of America, this wonderful free country, was a DEMOCRACY and not a REPUBLIC. The size of the United States (3.797 MILLION square miles) with a population of 320 MILLION + people is not conducive to a total democracy. That would only work if the entire United States was divided into exact equal states with the same amount of people in each state. That way, each state would have equal representation during all elections. The way it stands now, Texas, Florida, California and New...

Trump isn't president yet. All we are seeing is how he will set up his cabinet and that he is trying to fulfill his campaign promises. What we haven't seen yet is how he will address abortion, immigration, the environment, housing, crime, terrorism and the list goes on. We all give previous presidents a chance. Why can't we give him the same chance? I know he isn't taking the media on burger runs. Sorry about that. Sorry that he has taken to ranting on Twitter because people keep pushing his buttons instead of talking to a media that has already made up their minds about him. Hopefully he will work within the government and not have to use executive orders to pass his ideas on how the United States should be run. I don't know what type of job Trump will do BECAUSE...

Dear Donald Trump Voter, Almost a month has passed since the election so we have all had time to think, process, and accept the results of the election. You may have had your celebrations of your candidate winning, as well as Clinton supporters have had the time to grieve their loss. We have all had the opportunity to see the ways this election and the results has affected our everyday lives whether it’s been through social media, the news, or from our family and friends. This election has most definitely brought out the worst in some people. It has torn apart friendships and relationships and maybe even families. At the end of the election it seemed like you were either one or the other, a Trump supporter or a Trump hater, right? If you thought Trump was the lesser of the two evils,...

Dear Sir and/or Madam: I am a social worker, and I am pro-choice. Let me be clear… I am pro-CHOICE and NOT pro-abortion. There is a very, very big difference. In fact, I can’t think of a single person that I know who is pro-abortion. “Hey, Sandy. How are you? Oh? You’re having an abortion?? That’s so WONDERFUL!! Good for you!!” or “You’re pregnant?? Oh, I really think you should have an abortion. It’s the best thing ever!” Yeah… no one says that. However, I do know a lot of people who believe that a woman should be the person responsible for making decisions about her healthcare and her body. Apparently, you aren’t one of those people. In fact, you want a law that prohibits a woman from having an abortion pretty much as soon as she is aware that she is...
