Governor Bevin, You may not remember me, but I remember you very clearly. On Thursday, August 18th, I tapped you on the back at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville and told you that I would have your job one day. My dream, other the becoming the governor of our once-great state, could be shattered due to the unfair and cruel mistreatment of our teachers and the future of our state’s education. To give some background knowledge, Kentucky is ranked 45 out of 50 for state educational attainment. I’m sorry, Mr. Governor, but I believe that Kentucky should be #1. If we really want to be first, we cannot eliminate our teacher’s pensions. As the daughter and the sister of educators and as a possible future educator myself, I am so very worried about our Kentucky’s teachers. I fear for the...

Dear Mr. Annan: How are you doing? I trust that life has been good. Mr. Annan, do you remember me? Probably not, but I certainly remember you. It was sometime in 97 or 98, at a very exclusive and nameless restaurant somewhere in Airport residential area, in Accra. You were there with a woman and a boy/ teenager, I assumed they were your family. I knew who you were and was a little star-struck, so I kept peeking. In my peeking, I noticed you constantly staring at me, it was a very small/intimate place. At the time, I thought you were just being a perverted old man, as they all were. Now when I look back, I think maybe that wasn’t the case, considering who you were. Perhaps you kept looking because you recognized the disturbing scene occurring before your own eyes. In a restaurant that...

Thoughts on protests kkk nazis etc. They shouldn’t be fucking protesting with guns. Peaceful protests are what is the norm. Carrying a gun is being prepared to use it. You should only use it if someone points a gun at you. Intimidating people with guns is not the way to go. regardless of what anyone can think, that directly sends out an aggressive message. If they wanted to protest keeping the statue, they should’ve done it in a peaceful protest legal way, not bring guns to intimidate. YOU DONT SEE BLM OR OTHER MOVEMENTS CARRYING GUNS, IF THEY DID THEN THEY’D BE IMMEDIATELY ARRESTED OR SHOT. THERE IS A FUCKING DOUBLE STANDARD. Trump is bullshit for having delayed identifying the kkk nazis etc and for rather spending more time talking about the news. Just because he calls news fake...

Dear mr Dennis Christensen, I would like to use this opportunity to express my support for you and for your family. I have heard about your arrest and about the persecution of Jehovah’s Witnesses in general in Russia. I am not a Jehovah’s Witness, but have come to know Jehovah’s Witnesses as a law-abiding group of people, who have made being obedient to other authorities part of their religious belief. I just cannot believe that a court would condemn you for this. However, that is the world we live in today. I don’t know you personally and we never met, but I hope to come and visit you some day soon in prison. Last but not least, I asked Jehovah once to help me write something for His oppressed children. The result is the following poem. I hope it will give you (and others)...

Dear Outraged White Men, You are not oppressed. If history has taught us anything, it is that you have all of the rights. For instance, you do not have to worry when you walk down the street after dark that you might be attacked and raped. You do not have to worry that if a cop stops you that you might be murdered for having a taillight out because of the color of your skin. Your healthcare is not being micromanaged by congress, a majority of whose sex is opposite your own. When elections come around you do not have to worry that you might not be able to vote because it is hard for you to obtain a state issued ID. If anything, the current administration is pandering to you. It is telling you that people who do not look exactly like you, who do not believe in the same religion as...

Dear Teresa May, I'm Writing this open letter because at this point im deeply disgusted. In the past week i have experienced both of my elderly grandparents wait collectively 14 hours for medical treatment. On Monday my 86 year old Grandfather waited 12 hours for an ambulance to take him to hospital, And today my 87 year old Grandmother waited 2 hours for her SCHEDULED doctors appointment. From your cuts to the NHS it caused the backlash of two people in their late 80's be unable to get the medical attention they needed and so so much more. Firstly, on the Monday we waited with my grandfather until 4 in the morning when the ambulance finally turned up. The staff of the NHS i cannot fault, they re overworked and underpaid. Upon Arriving the ambulance staff apologized...

An Open Letter to the Voters of Cook County: The Cook County Soda Tax is the latest monumental failure of leadership by the politically embattled Preckwinkle regime. 90% of citizens disapprove of it, merchants don’t know how to implement it, class action litigation has already been filed, and residents are beginning to simply purchase the same beverages in neighboring counties to avoid the exorbitant soda tax (on top of the staggering sales tax). Instead of discussing those self-evident failures, I write with a focus on Toni Preckwinkle’s failures as a leader and politician through the process. Failure #1: Oops! My team and I failed to do any real work to research and read about soda taxes before rushing to propose the tax.No one in the Preckwinkle regime, including the...

To say that there is much in this world that needs positive change and an adjustment to the way we think, act and believe, would be an understatement. There is much that can be learned from finding a way to love your enemy. More importantly however, while I can do little to change the world, I can change my own way of thinking, acting and believing, and by doing so I might be able to affect those that I interact with. This in turn can cause a change in the world. This country (US) was founded on God and His principles. Not everyone has to believe in God or even a higher power, but I do believe that everyone can agree that we as human beings are capable of acting out of love and compassion. That while yes, human beings can be nothing more than base animals, it is in our capacity to...

Dear Mr Corbyn, I am pleading with my heart and soul, not for my own heart and soul, but for yours, and that of the country. I am shocked and appalled by the Labour Party's stance on Brexit. The simple truth is this. the vote itself FOR leaving represented a fraction of the people of this country, consequently, it should in my view not be used as a tool for constitutional change. In more realistic circumstances, this is normally the case, the requirement of a 'supermajority' to elicit such an important alteration in laws. What I applaud you for Sir, is the way you have delivered on the benefits of parliament rather then the government acting using statutory instruments, this was not missed by those of us who do follow the actions of government with a close eye. The fact is that I...

Dear Mr. President, On Friday, you said something that was unprecedentedly reckless for a person holding the highest office of the land. In a speech to a room full of law enforcement officers in Suffolk County, NY, you encouraged officers to rough up people they arrest and to not worry so much about being careful to protect them. Not only is this illegal and violates constitutional protections against police mistreatment, but it is also a mean-spirited statement rooted in ill will and racism.. It is no secret that Black boys and men are arrested at significantly higher rates — 2.5 times more — than other segments of the population. This is not because they commit more crimes; this is because of implicit and explicit racial bias in the criminal justice system. Because of racial...
