In a bizarre story of American veteran Bruce Gorcyca working in China 11 years as a corporate trainer and 3D artist, he was arrested on April 11, 2018 for an expired passport that the U.S. embassy refused to renew without explanation. The police told him it was an "administrative violation" that required him to pay a $2,000 fine and spend 15 days in jail. Gorcyca complied without incident. The U.S. embassy reps were supposed to visit him within 7 days. They didn't. The U.S. embassy reps were suposed to bring him a new passport so he could go free after 15 days. They didn't. After 21 days they finally did visit him and was told that Gorcyca was not allowed to make a telephone call, see a judge nor a lawyer, send mail, nor have visitors. The embassy rep remained mute and promised to...

Dear City of Vancouver Councillors, Mayor Kennedy and Dr. Bonnie Henry This is a request for sanitation support for vulnerable people in the West End and Granville Street North. In an extremely small area surrounding St Paul’s Hospital in Downtown Vancouver there are SRO’s, a low-barrier community centre, multiple supported housing buildings, primary care clinics and a large number of seniors and unhoused people. There are no hand-washing stations available outside, in a place where many spend days and nights in close contact with others and without access to running water and soap. There are currently no accessible outdoor hand-washing stations outside of the Downtown Eastside at all. Providing these services in this vulnerable location is more important than ever in light of...

Dear President Barack Obama, I won't soon forget the chills I felt when I first heard your 2004 DNC keynote address. My husband and I watched it live, listening from a futon in our rented apartment in Somerville, Massachusetts, knowing that the convention was taking place just a handful of miles away. Your passionate denunciation of the shortsightedness and moral unseriousness of the two-party system hit home and embodied all the hope we had had for the candidacy of Howard Dean. After your speech, several television pundits said things to the tune of "Watch this guy—he's going places." By that time we had already said to one another aloud, "There's our president." Through the ups and downs, hopes and heartaches of the years that followed, we cast our votes for you twice. We never...

Since the unfortunate death of Reddit founder Aaron Swarz, Reddit has suffered a steady erosion of credibility while it's political pro-establishment bias has grown way beyond the obvious level. But with Julian Assange conveniently side-lined for the election cycle this year, nobody has filled his void to sound the alarm about Reddit's underhanded attempts to foment election fraud, much as they did in 2016 when they covertly promoted Hillary's campaign with similar sabotage. As you read these very words, 789,000 subscribers of the largest Trump forum aka "sub" r/the_donald" have been quarantined, and people who try to protest the matter get banned, no matter how long they have been a member. Ditto for those who protest the sudden rule changes the DNC made to eliminate the only young...

Dear America, The millennial generation is the most down-trodden, disenfranchised, and disempowered generation of the 21st century. Meanwhile members of the millennial parents’ and grandparents’ generations have retained power, sequestered wealth, and imposed policies and regulations that have and will ensure that most millennials will live paycheck to paycheck, suffer from inexorable student loan debt, and be unable to buy a house, a car, or comfortably raise children of their own. There are roughly 45 million Americans with a combined student loan debt totaling approximately $1.7 trillion dollars. Millennials comprise the majority of student loan debt holders. Unlike other financial instruments like credit cards, personal or business loans and medical bills, student loans are not...

Dear Democratic Presidential Nominee, In this year of 2020, we, as the democratic party, face nearly insurmountable challenges in the coming election. We stand against a Republican president who is unlike anything we have ever seen before. Many of his supporters show unwavering support no matter what he does. He is willing to lie and cheat to get what he wants and shows no remorse for his actions. Despite many staunch supporters, there are republicans who feel that President Trump is not a good representation of what the republican party is. It is up to you to make these people, and those who do not align with a specific party, understand that the plans you have for the country will be more beneficial and do less harm to people than the policies that President Trump has implemented...

Short term, I think most of us agree, slow the spread, blunt the curve, which means a temporary position of limited interactions and necessary restrictions. But as a world, we don’t get through this crisis by destroying society and the world economy; we don’t get through this by isolationism. Every model clearly demonstrates how well isolation slows the spread, it never stops it; it affords precious time to prepare, it doesn’t impact the outcome that everyone on the planet will contract the disease. Modern societies function on interdependence, in the community, in the country, and across the world. We need each part of the economic cycle functioning to maintain our way of life; travel, entertainment, education, production, and services all work together to feed, clothe, and shelter the...

Whether you like or despise President Trump, he will deserve all of our votes come November IF he keeps his 2016 campaign promise to expose the “real story of 9/11”, because no other American leader has the balls to tell us the truth about the mass murder that took place that day in Manhattan. I personally do not like the impulsive and often arrogant way Mr. Trump expresses himself, but if he exposes the crimes of George H. Bush, Dick Cheney, Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia and the Benjamin Netanyahu on 9/11, I will forgive all his shortcomings and call him a genuine patriot. If he locks up former FBI Director Robert Mueller for Treason, I will even praise him as a national hero. Why? Because today in 2020, so much evidence of an inside job has surfaced from over 300 credible sources...
