Dear Mr. Trump,

I am writing to introduce myself. I am one of approximately 60,467,601 Americans who did NOT vote for you for President. To put this in perspective for you, 52.5% of US voters did NOT want you for President. Additionally, you should be aware that of the approximately 318,900,000 current citizens of the United States, 258,000,000 did NOT have a say in your election. I hope that this gives you some pause and reason to consider your next and first moves as holder of the office of President.
The Constitution of the United States (which I quote from here and later in this paragraph) declares that a person elected to the Presidency “shall hold his Office.” The key word here is “hold”, meaning to occupy or fill. You are only a temporary custodian of the office. You do not own it. You are given authority and powers so that you may, for the People of the United States, “provide for the common defence [sic], promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” “Ourselves” includes all 318,900,000 of the citizens of the United States. In short, you work for us.

My purpose here is to begin a correspondence with you regarding what I believe you need to do as President and how well you are performing your job. You made many promises; some are more reasonable than others. I will be periodically commenting to you on your progress toward delivering on these promises. Consider this the first installment.
You made promises to make America great again. Nice rhetoric, but what do you mean? I suggest that you begin by examining your own life and business and change those facets that conflict with your promise to make America great again. First, you need to severe all business ties with any organization or nation when a comparable service is available in the United States. Manufacture, advertise, manage, distribute, and market any and all Trump brand products in and from the United States. To be brazen, STOP MAKING DRESS SHIRTS AND TIES IN CHINA AND BENGLADESH! Amazon.com reviews (yes, I looked today) indicate that your Make America Great Again hats were made in CHINA! The Rust Belt of the United States, where you promised to bring manufacturing jobs, could use an infusion of industry. Make your products here, in Zanesville, Wheeling, Johnstown, Gary, Cedar Rapids, Flint…….. I hope you get the point.
Finally, for today anyway, I want to remind you that you promised to release your taxes. You haven’t. You need to. I am very troubled to think that I may have paid more taxes than you have in the last 25 years while you made more money in a month that I did in 25 years. Make sure that when you label the file folder for my letters (there will be more) that you spell my name correctly. Also, my last name, Maust, which has been in the United States for almost 300 years, is rhymes with “exhaust.” Make no jokes about hot air.
Patriotically,
G C Maust
