To the weaker me:
You wasn't always this fragile. There was a time when your strength was all you had and you clung to it like a life support. You were a survivor. Of so many things. Abused. Left. Alone. But never scared.
You were a fighter. You never gave up. You never let yourself. Who are you now? Why are you laying there... Crying... Unable to get up... Unshowered.... Unmotivated.... GET UP!
I am in you... I've never left. Listen to my voice my weak self. Hold onto me again. Let me pull you from this place.
Don't think of the past.. You beat it already. You won. When everyone rallied for you to fail you persevered and you came out better than before. When you stumbled you got right back up. You never stayed down. Emotional scars can hurt the most. They can fester and...

"Best friends- it's a promise, not a label"
well what the hell did I do for you to break that promise
we had been best friends for well over 11 years, we did everything together, every weekend you were at my house, or I was at yours, we were hardly ever apart and when we WERE apart we were texting every 5 seconds. I told you everything, I ranted about random things time and time again, and you listened. We jammed out in my living room, dancing like retarded chickens shot by a gun, and we did it because we could be ourselves around each other.
Then in the blink of an eye it changed.
You became really obsessed with Anime crap. You found other friends, people that you said you "could be your true self around" when you knew fine and well that you were ALWAYS yourself around me. You...

Dear Mr. President, I am writing you on behalf of my innocent husband Mr. Jeffrey Alexander Sterling. You know Mr. Sterling as the former “disgruntled” CIA Officer that your administration indicted and prosecuted, resulting in conviction on nine felony counts, seven of them under the antiquated Espionage Act, with a sentence of three and a half years in prison. I would like to introduce you to the real Jeffrey Sterling who is my best friend and husband for the past 11 years.
Jeffrey Sterling was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He is the youngest of six boys, and his parents divorced at a very early age. Jeffrey was a very inquisitive, bright, and driven child. He once took apart his mother’s radio just to see the interior working mechanisms and as a challenge to be able to...

To Michael Sohocki, owner of Reastaurant Gwendolyn:
When I first read your post on the Rivard Report talking about how you were forced to make the difficult business decision to close lunch service at your restaurant, my initial reaction was to run downtown and give you hug and a fist bump for speaking your mind and telling everyone “how it is.”
I loved how honest and raw your words were. Frankly, I’ve thought a lot about your post in the past 24 hours –probably too much – and the more I chew on it, the more I find issues with a few of your points.
Before I get to those, first let me say three things: 1) I applaud your use of a forum such as this to express your opinion – a win for free speech, 2) I’m ecstatic that someone with some money/investment in the game spoke up and...

Dear {future} Mr. President,
I hope this letter finds you well. I know you have A LOT on your plate. The world is a scary place. At least that is what theSkimm tells me. You see, I presidentpost1am a mom of two toddler boys, and I don’t have much time (or patience, for that matter) to soak up all the news out there. This mom thing leaves little downtime for myself. Prior to kids, I was a self-proclaimed news junkie. In fact, I even stayed up late on election nights and set my alarm to go off periodically to check the results should I fall asleep while watching the riveting coverage. It isn’t that I am no longer interested in politics or government. Quite the opposite. It’s just that pesky thing called time, which I seem to have so little of. I am trying to keep up with this election,...

Dear long distance girlfriend,
It has been two years since we have been living two different countries. Because of our busy schedules, the emails have got shorter, the duration of our phone calls, too, have shot down drastically. But, let me assure you that our relationship has got stronger and the love that we have for each other has grown by leaps and bounds. As they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder. Do you feel the same? Would love to hear your thoughts. I still visit the old lady down the street and provide her food everyday as you had asked me to. I do not miss a day of my piano classes. Will play you a few tunes when you come back. I visit your parents every weekend. They are as loving as always.
Both of us realize the importance of this relationship and what we mean...

Dear friends (and non-friends) who have ran alongside me,
There’s something about a long run, isn’t there? There’s something about a long run that changes you the way a short run doesn’t… and there’s something about a long run with a friend (or a non-friend) that brings you closer than if you had met for drinks or stayed up chatting in sweatpants on the couch. This past January, after the Disney Half-Marathon, my brother asked the question, “you talked for the entire half-marathon? What do you talk about for 13.1 miles?”
It’s something I get asked often by non-runners or even by short-distance runners who focus more on speed as opposed to long, slow runs. How is it possible that I can talk for so long while running? What do you even talk about when you’re running alongside...

To the flatmate who won’t stop eating my food,
Every day is a constant struggle for me. Like most other students, including yourself, I’m constantly caught between being bankrupt and just having enough money to buy a loaf of bread. Yes, obviously I always have the funds for essentials such as a bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate the size of my torso but that is neither here nor there.
Growing up with numerous siblings, I understand the need to share. I’d also consider myself as someone who is quite generous, especially when someone is in need. But even someone with the patience of a Saint (read: me) would be hard done to not lose their temper at how much and how often you abuse my patience.
Take for example, my chocolate bourbons; my favourite biscuit and treat to myself....

Dear President Elbegdorj,
Thank you for the opportunity to allow me to address you with regard to the proposed Mongol Derby.
I have been involved with the sport of endurance and long distance riding for over 40 years. For 20 years I have been on the Board of Governors for the Tevis Ride, the oldest organized endurance ride in the world (started in 1955) which traverses 100 miles in the rugged Sierra Nevada mountains.
Over these years the sport of endurance riding has allowed us to scientifically understand the physical requirements of the horse that is ridden long distances, carrying weight, and traveling at speed. The horse that is unprepared for this sport is in peril of dying.
And that is my fear.
This event is being administered by people who want drama and exploitation...
