Wikileaks has fully failed the people of the United States. It has done so at such a critical time that we are left with no choice but to really question the true reasoning for the existence of such a site. In an age when knowledge is the most powerful weapon that any of us can own we have been told and made to believe in the altruistic purpose of Wikileaks and its creator Julian Assange. In truth, the only purpose served is that of creating a celebrity status for the creator Julian Assange. He has willfully and knowing misled the American public and the entire world by stating he and his site would release truthful damaging information on a person running to become President of the United States. Information which could sway the votes of many people, information rightfully belonging to the people of the US and not to a person or entity like Wikileaks and not for Julian Assange or his site to decide if we should be allowed to know this information. As free people, the only way we have to be able to rightfully decide our future is to know the truth about those purposing to become our leaders. By withholding this information Mr. Assange and his site have become participants in the very thing they swore to hate to the most. They have themselves become one of the entities despised by free people everywhere. Keeping national secrets due to security is one thing, but keeping information that can sway the outcome of an election is something which should never be considered or entertained.
I personally wrote Mr. Assange and Wikileaks a month ago to assure them the American people are supportive of their efforts to wipe away the dirt through which our politicians want to keep us viewing the world. I expressed the importance to keep Americans in the know, to keep us informed.
Now out of the blue we see what can only seem to be a coerced Mr. Assange stating there will be no release. He doesn't state there were never any documents, oh no, he just states no release of documents at this time. Mr. Assange it is fully unacceptable and unforgivable to hold onto information which the American people need to know before our election in November. Now we are faced with an untenable situation in which millions of people will cast votes not fully knowing the truth about the candidate Hillary Clinton. While not actually a crime, it is down right criminal for this supposed altruistic man and his creation Wikileaks to act in such a way. The damage done to the reputation of Mr. Assange and Wikileaks will be irreversible. The American public and the world can no longer rely on Wikileaks to inform us when our governments decide to lie to us instead. We can only pray that someone else that is capable steps up and retakes the responsibility to tell us the truth when no one else will.
