An open letter to the people of Great Britain

To my fellow Brits.

We have been lied to.

We have been lied to by those in the highest halls of power.

"The EU!" You cry! But that is not true.

With the Brexit vote's victory the population voted, sadly to leave the European Union.

But why?! The rest of the world cried.

To be a part of the union is to be a part of the greatest trade body in the world. To have a say in the world stage. To be a part of an ideal. Further as part of the EU Britain recieved special treatment and opt outs that no other nation enjoyed.

With the results announced the financial world went into panic as the world struggled to understand our decision. Why would we throw away a good thing?

Because we, the people. The ordinary working class. "Honest decent people." Were lied to.

The brexit campaign distorted figures, made promises they never expected to be called upon to keep. That they couldn't keep!

The truth is that we ARE stronger in the EU. It drives our economy and gives us national security in the face of an uncertain world.

The leave campaigns promised an end to immigration. To take back our borders, to regain control. Control that the poorest of us sadly lack. Those who have been abandoned during the recession, who have yet to see the benefits of recovery as those in the halls of parliament force austerity measures upon us.

The leave campaign made promises they cannot and could never keep. To be a part of the european market is to accept its highest principles. That of the freedom of movement and the freedom from discrimination.

Even now as David Cameron steps down from his post the path is clear for Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson to declare independence from the EU.

So far they have yet to stand.

They cannot. To leave the EU would be to leave behind the financial passports that drive the trade conducted in london. To leave, to even voice the thought sent the economy into a tailspin and they know this. Think of how bad things have gotten and realise, that without the EU and the rebates and trade and economic opportunities. You, I, the united kingdom and indeed the world would all be worse off.

Immigrants are taking our jobs. Immigrants are taking our money. That is the lie which we have been fed for years. The EU provides so much, to all of us. We cannot throw that away. To do so would leave us in dire straits.

The honest hardworking immigrants to the United kingdom. My friends, my colleagues. Those who were born here, who work here every day who are proud to be british. They are not your enemies. They never were. They are our closest allies. Our neighbours and family.

The EU was first conceived in the aftermath of World War Two.

Never Again.

Powerful words. Spoken as the allies put an end to Tyranny. An end to Terror and Genocide.

The EU was founded on an Ideal, to ensure that such destruction, such cold calculated evil could never again rise to power and to ensure the lasting peace of the european continent and indeed the world.

For years that has been what the joined European nations have strove towards. Granting us special exemptions in order to preserve that unity.

And all the while. The British media and those in power have blamed a minority for the ills in the United Kingdom.

As the gap between rich and poor grows wider and dissent grows the richest latched upon a scapegoat to blame. To distract the working class. They have blamed the Polish for taking jobs. For taking money from you.

Once the Jewish peoples in Germany were accused of the same.

The blamed the fall of Germany upon those weakest. Nazi Germany discriminated against the Jewish, singled them out and directed the common peoples dissatisfaction against them. Then they enacted the holocaust. Millions died tragically. War broke out. Between the dictatorship and the rest of the world.

The British peoples. English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish. Our proud Ghurka regiments all held out against the Nazi scourge and with the help of our allies triumphed. Brought an end to an evil regime and ushered in democracy.

That is a legacy for us British to be proud of.

And yet, in the wake of the British referndum I am instead filled with shame. Already there are calls to deport those who stand shoulder to shoulder with us, sleeves rolled up hard at work.

Honest working people.

"The immigrants are taking our jobs. The immigrants are taking our money. The immigrants our taking our country."

Change one word. One word and you have the mantra that Adolf Hitler built his rise to power on.

Those in Parliament used us. They gave us a target and let us loose. Now hate and violence spills onto the streets. Please don't let that be our legacy.

The United Kingdom has been starkly divided in this. Scotland and Irelandmay leave the union. But we are stronger as a United Kingdom and we are Stronger as part of the European union.

Now we stand on the brink of disaster brought their by a campaign of lies and fear. The media and those in power used Europe and it's peoples as a scapegoat. To distract us all as they grow in power and wealth.

It provides a chilling parallel to the rise of Nazi Germany.

I call upon the British people. We must remove those in charge. Who have lied to us time and again.

We must create a new transparent government. Who do not lead us through misdirection. And we must hold full, legal trials against those who sought to undermine our British values.

But what we must not do is allow anger and hatred to rule our hearts.

I call upon the government. Resign your posts. The Brexit campaigners made promises they cannot keep. But all the parties have, over the years made and broken promise after promise.

Please. Boris Johnson. Nigel Farage. Come clean. You knew that you cannot realistically uphold your oaths. Admit that you lied. That you made mistakes. Surrender yourself into police custody.

And I call upon Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second. To assume a temporary position of power until free and fair elections can be held. Ones that are open and not ruled by lies.

We are not racist. We are multi-cultural and diverse. But for too long the poorest have been forgotten.

To continue along our current path is to go alone into a dark place.

I have great pride in my country. In the countries that make up the United Kingdom. And in the Ideals that the EU is built upon. British values that we all hold dear to our hearts.

I cannot and will not let this be the final legacy of our proud nation. To shatter everything our veterans fought for and built.

We must allow cooler heads to prevail and use British common sense. We must remain a part of the EU and have a voice in shaping the future we want our children to grow up in.

We must not give in to hatred and allow ourselves to be decieved by lies.

Britain has always and will always be stronger as a united people ready to stand together in the face of adversity.

Yours faithfully.
A concerned British Patriot.
