To Chris McCann/EBible Fellowship, Gunther Von Haringa Sr./Bible Ministries International, the Latter Rain Facebook group, and the rest of the modern-day Pharisees dragging God's Word through the mud, trifling with a living document and mixing it with your own dead and deadly message:
Salvation is not over. Frankly I would be surprised if you bother clicking through the below URL and actually reading the Bible study to which it points.
In an effort to promote this Bible study to its target audience, I've run up against the tallest and thickest and hardest brick wall ever built.
You all declare this murderous message and take careful steps to make sure that no one is allowed to challenge you. Why is that? Why do you not allow comments on your websites and why have closed, private, exclusive social media communities and announce-only mailing lists? Why does EBible Fellowship's Facebook group come down like a hurricane on anyone who dares contradict the closed-door teaching and the timeline, even if this is done with the Bible alone? Why is it that anyone who publicly teaches that May 21, 2011, was Judgment Day always barricade himself against public responses? Are you afraid someone might actually present you with Bible passages that will change your minds and show you up in front of those who have laughed at you? Even Family Radio, though they don't teach the calendar anymore or hold to the closed-door teaching, has completely swept the entire matter under the rug and buried it. It is certainly troubling that they fail to take a public stance on their website and on the air, but at least they're not devoting their entire ministry to bald-faced lies in the name of the LORD.
None of the greatest culprits has taken responsibility for deceiving the world and bringing such enormous reproach to the name of Christ. An exception to this is Harold Camping himself, but his statement went unheeded and was even chalked up to his stroke by those who didn’t want to let go of the pulpit that the closed-door teaching provided or who were simply scared to change their position thinking it might indicate that they aren’t saved after all.
The Calendar, the closed-door teaching, the Bible doesn't teach any of this. If you really believe yourselves to be right and really do want to declare truth to the world, then read the following and then correct me from the Bible alone. I've just dropped an opportunity to declare truth right in your laps, so heed this if you're so sure:
“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take [any] person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.” (Ezekiel 33:6)
And this:
“The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold <02779>; [therefore] shall he beg in harvest, and [have] nothing.” (Proverbs 20:4)
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter <02779>, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22)
Don't bother responding to this without reading the entire study carefully and prayerfully and without laying aside the calendar. You have no right to enjoy a walk with God without bearing a burden not unlike that which Christ Himself bore while He was here on earth being maligned and reviled for telling the truth. He didn't shy away from it even when He knew people wouldn't listen, and He didn't refuse to communicate with those who disagreed. Christ is no coward, and He didn't enjoy the benefits of communion with God without the hardship of preaching truth to an unbelieving audience.
“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10)
No one who really believes the Bible should be unwilling to entertain contradictory opinions regarding May 21, 2011, any more than he should be unwilling to dialogue with a Muslim or a Mormon or an atheist or a Satanist.
“They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:18)
Before any of you dredges up in your mind the tired and rather fortuitous argument of EBible and others that we shouldn't strive and therefore shouldn't bother conversing on these matters, don't forget that the Bible does indicate that this can be done without striving.
“In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;” (2 Timothy 2:25)
You have all enjoyed the privilege of an uncontested doctrinal position for too long as it is. Here's a chance to read a Bible study from a man who used to believe like you do, who traveled the Family Radio circle in bygone days, who believes in predestination and agrees that the demonstration gospel is false. I'm not some garden-variety free-will-believing, tongues-speaking Pentecostal who feels personally threatened by teachings that take away his control over his own soul. I’m not a Catholic or a Baptist. I’m not a Jehovah’s Witness. I don't even attend church. I'm a saved Christian who recognizes the holiness of the Bible and the sovereignty of God.
Certainly no one minded reading the books of Mr. Camping when they scratched itching ears, so why not another man's book?
Are you going to let the angry and judgmental tone of this message give you an excuse to dismiss the Bible study linked to below, or are you going to take the opportunity to correct someone whom you think is in error in meekness and Godly love? Let's find out:
