I am an American citizen. I have many Muslim friends who are also American. I also have Mexican friends who are law abiding citizens like you and me. Donald Trump said that Mexico sends rapists here. He says that the neighborhoods my Muslim friends live in, must be policed. And Muslims should be banned from entering the U.S. Is it fair to them and other minorities in the U.S. to be targeted and victimized? He has also been brazen enough to say that mosques should be shut down or watched. Would this have ever been said about Churches?
How can my friends feel safe in this country? Why would they not feel discriminated against? They already live every single day of their lives in despair, that their religion has been hijacked by terrorists. They are being made to pay the price for the crimes of terrorists because of their religion. How much more pain and trauma do they have to endure? The very country they are born and brought up in doesn't feel like home anymore. They are treated like strangers in their own country. They feel unwanted and disliked. Trump says people who follow Islam hate Americans. How can a presidential candidate make a statement like that without any concern for the torment he is putting good citizens of America through?
You want to vote for him because he makes radical statements, doesn't care to be politically correct and you find it entertaining and refreshing. He said he was thinking about paying the legal fees of a man who sucker punched a protester. Is this really entertaining?
This is not a reality show or a movie that provides fun or entertainment. This is the most serious, important and difficult job anyone can have. The position once taken by Abe Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. Presidents who made us proud of our country. Of men who made America truly great. Can any of you imagine any of our presidents objectifying women and comparing how their wives looked?
Can you imagine any respectable man commenting on a journalist about being on her period for asking tough questions? Do you want a president who bullies his opponents by calling them names and poking fun at their appearance? Do you really want to see our country in the hands of a loose cannon, a sexist and racist? Do you want to vote for someone who doesn't have sufficient knowledge on policy to govern our country? This is not a job you can start with
as an intern and learn on the job. He has to be president from day one.
Please think long and hard before you vote. We want a president who can be respected not just in our country, but internationally. We need a President
who treats everyone fairly and as equals. Vote for someone you know is strong on foreign and economic policy. Do not put our country in danger. Please help make America united again.
