Dear Friends Leaving for College:

I love you guys and I wish you all the best in your endeavors! They say that friends are the family that we choose, and I think we all picked a good family. Over the years, we have all had mixed times. Some of us were at a high while others were at their lows. And like a family would, we would do what we can to come and help each other. If I could ask but one thing from each of you, it's to keep in touch with one another. Even if it's something like just a quick conversation happening just to say hi. And when times are rough, and you need someone to talk to, call one of us! We all care about each other! And sure we might not be able to just run right to each other in times of need, but we can always use technology to shorten the gap between us and make it easier.

Family, you are the family that I will have from now until the day my heart stops. We may all start families of our own blood, but you will be the source of all the crazy stories I tell my kids and grandkids in time. You will be the family that I will keep just as near and dear to my heart and send thoughtful words to just because I thought of you. And it's very hard to part, but we do it not to abandon each other, not to cut each other off, but to grow stronger in our own ways. We part to prove to ourselves we can grow stronger. We CAN accomplish our dreams. And we CAN go without seeing each other all the time, but still love one another.

Friends, it's with my whole heart that I say this, and I mean it for you all. Be the best you can be, don't let hurdles hinder you from coming out on top, and don't let yourself down. I know you all will accomplish it, and I know you all will be in my heart, and I know you all will keep me going to try my best.

Love you more than I may express,
Your Friend.
