I know this has been said a million times in a million different ways, but I can’t seem to break the cliche. I’m sorry for hating you when I see him smile like he used to. And I’m sorry for tearing you down in my head when I think about you touching his skin. My heart hasn’t completely learned to accept the fact that he took his heart away from me yet and I don't know how long it will be until it does. But, it knows that he has the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen and I’d do anything to see it again; even if it means letting go. I don’t want you to view me as a jealous ex because we were friends before I fell in love the way I hope you have, and if you make him happy, I will love you too.
I’d like to tell you a few things. He’s terrified of spiders, there is no way you can expect him to man up and squish it even if it’s as small as a nail. He loves hamburgers and lots of cartoons, however, he will pretend to love whatever drama or romantic comedy you want to watch that night. He needs to feel completely accepted when you love him, you have to love the scar on his chin and his love for school and the way he rarely makes normal faces in pictures. Sometimes he will get hurt and turn into a whole different person, you will be scared and confused where the man you met went. Don’t let him go, he’s more broken than he likes to admit, I hope you know what to do better than I, but he has to know you’re there through the worst of it. He won’t always make it easy, but when he comes back talk to him and let him know you love him even with the cracks in his heart.
He works a lot. He will never be too great with words. He will fall asleep on you sometimes and maybe even drool. He has walls the size of skyscrapers and you never know when they’ll rise. Sometimes he doesn't want to better himself and won't budge since he's unbelievably stubborn. But he will love you completely and make you so unbelievably happy. You will feel like you met your best friend and now you get to kiss him too.
To the girl who dates him next, please be kind and careful, his heart is the most beautiful thing you will get to see if you’re careful enough to allow him to open it.
