I just received an emailing asking me to donate to the Conservative Party this is my heart felt response. Thanks to you Fracking will be taking place in areas of natural beauty across the United Kingdom. Changes to policy have been made to ensure that there is limited resistance in order to speed up the process without thought for those you claim to represent or the environment. Throughout 2015 Jeremy Hunt conducted a war against all those who work tirelessly within the National Health Service (NHS) claiming that hospitals close their doors at the weekend. That there is no support from consultants at the weekends; which is far from the truth. Consultants, Registrars, porters, health care support workers, cleaners, radiographers’ nurses and paramedics are amongst those that keep the NHS running 24/7. Who often spend special family times birthdays, Christmas and Easter on the ward, A&E, theatre, I wonder where Jeremy Hunt and David Cameron spent their Christmas this year.
There is already low moral within the National Health Service a vote of no confidence was made and 227'693 signatures to remove Jeremy Hunt from office. This was debated on the 14th of September 2015 and the response from parliament was "The Government is committed to delivering seven day services to make sure that patients get the same high quality, safe care on a Saturday and Sunday as they do on a week day" Once more closing ranks instead of listening to those it is meant to represent (https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/104334 ). George Osborne is considering on removing the student nurse bursary and saving eight hundred million. However I would not have been able to train as a nurse without it and even then I still had to work part time in order to keep my head above water. I have been working as a nurse for a year and I am still paying off my credit card bill which kept me a float when I needed to study and complete practice hours in order to qualify. Sadly I still rely on my credit card to fill the gap in my salary.
This year members of parliament accepted a 10% pay increase. David Cameron accepted the raise citing that is the rate for the job. Yet at the same time capping wage increases for public services at 1% An average member of parliament now earns £74'000 and the average nurse £21'692 progressing to £34'876 a fireman earns £21'000 rising to £28'000. Police officers starting salary is £19'383 rising to £37'254. With these things weighing on my mind as I look forward to 2016 it would be foolish to support a government that delights in keeping its people in poverty and destroying areas of natural beauty.
