Dear Mr. Trump & Company,

I suppose you might be wondering why I blog letters instead of writing you all directly. I figure it's like this, if I snail or e-mail you, some lower down person or persons will screen the mail first, decide it's not worth your time, and discard it. However if I put it in a blog, then someone might pick it up, pass it along, it'll get sent around the net, maybe getting changed so much that Snopes.com will have to go back to my original post, debunk what was said, and somehow you might hear of it. Hench open letters to people like Whoopi Goldberg, stores like WalMart and Macy's, and now you.

Only instead of complaints or lectures about smoking, this time I wish to propose an idea to you for your show that could benefit a lot of people. Your show with ratings, your competitors with an opportunity to both learn something about raising money and doing good, and the Friends Of The Costa Mesa Libraries with sorely needed funds.

See, the Friends are trying to raise money to build a new central library in Costa Mesa. However it's a long, slow process. Heck, even their website isn't entirely finished - http://www.friendscmlibraries.org/ - a lot of links are disabled, even their "contact" link.

So here's what I'm proposing. You bring your show to California for at least one or two episodes, and have your contestants find ways to help the Friends raise money.

The Friends have no idea I'm posting this. I just woke up five minutes ago with the idea floating around my head. Vaguely formed. Wondering if it was even possible to propose such an idea to you. Maybe I had dreamed of such an episode, or not. Maybe it's just you've been on the news so much lately that it's affected my subconscious. Maybe God gave me the idea but of course no sure fire way to get it directly to those who'd say "YES! That's a great idea!"

It is, you know. Think about it. People love shows where they see others doing good. You'd get an already established business/charity to work with and help build up. The would be apprentices would get all sorts of experience. And of course the Friends would get the money and publicity they need.

It would be great for ratings, great for the Friends, and great for the souls of the contestants because they'd be doing good. Everyone needs to do a project that benefits their souls.

So there you have it. I'll just post this and pray it somehow reaches you.

Sincerely,
Jami JoAnne Russell
