Dear Committee Members,

After hearing the exciting news about Minneapolis winning the bid to host the 2018 Super Bowl, we immediately thought about the positive impact the big game will have on businesses in the Twin Cities area (which is our headquarter’s hometown). Between the award-winning local restaurant scene and quality hotel accommodations, there’s no doubt ticket holders will be kept warm and well fed during their visit.

But beyond the typical fan hospitality, we thought it might be helpful to provide some insight about other local businesses available to cater to your planning needs – especially in case the unexpected happens. While Minnesota is known for their niceness, these local companies also know a thing or two about doing business in the city. Almost all have been around since the last Super Bowl in Minnesota (1992), with some incorporating before first Super Bowl was ever played.

So give them a shout and feel confident they’ll be ready should you need them:

Frattalones Ace Hardware LogoIn Case of Wardrobe Malfunctions
Family-owned Frattallone’s Ace Hardware is by far the best place for finding hardware repair supplies. With 20 locations (3 in Minneapolis), you’re never more than 10 minutes from finding a quick solution. Ask for Larry, Tom or Mike.

General SportsIn Case the Referees Forget Their Stripes
The good people at General Sports Corporation got their start in 1962, just a few years before your first Super Bowl. They carry a full line of long-sleeve referee shirts and jackets in case your officials forget to pack everything or spill some Minneapolis homemade Ken Davis BBQ sauce prior to the game.

Dunn Bros Coffee Logo
In Case Too Many Caffeine Addicts Show Up in the Press Box
Covering the big game demands a bold coffee, which is why Minneapolis-based Dunn Bros is the perfect brew for the media. Their 64oz. Growlers of Infinite Black may be your best option. Thankfully there’s a location 1 ½ blocks from the stadium – so you won’t have to lug the jug too far.

Surly Brewing Co LogoIn Case Budweiser Forgets to Send Enough Kegs
Though only in business since 2006, Surly CEO Omar Ansari has been quite busy since you were here last in ’92. He graduated from Macalester College that year and spent a lot of time perfecting his business acumen before launching one of the most successful breweries in the state. With names like Furious, Bender, Darkness and Cynic, his beer should be a perfect match for your explosive linebackers and witty commentators.

Brothers Electric Co LogoIn Case a Power Outage Occurs
While the odds are low for the lights dimming in a new stadium, you’ll be relieved to know Brothers Electric Co has been responding to commercial lighting emergencies since Washington beat Miami in ’83.

In Case the Lock Breaks on the Trophy Case
A Dave's Lock and SafeWhile Minnesotans are pretty trustworthy, you certainly don’t want to leave old “Vince” vulnerable. Give A-Dave’s Lock and Safe a buzz if this should happen, especially since they’re ALOA certified. Ask for A-Dave or just Dave.

In Case Your Championship Rings Don’t Ship on Time
Gittelson Jewelers LogoGittelson Jewelers are known for their “Diamonds in the Skyway”, which means you won’t have to walk out in the cold to order and pick up your rings. With a 4.9 star Google rating, you can’t go wrong! And if they’re too swamped, you can always give Josten’s a shout since they know a thing or two about designing championship rings.

As you can see, we truly believe in these businesses – not just because they’re our customers – but because they know a thing or two about serving our community. Again, we look forward to your visit in a few years and are more than happy to give you a tour of our city any time (we’ve been around the block a bit, too!)

Sincerely,

The Deluxe Corp Team
