An Open Letter To Jeb Bush About Anil Dash

Subject: An Open Letter To Jeb Bush About Anil Dash

Dear Mr. Bush,

My name is Loren Feldman and I write to you as a concerned citizen, not of Florida, but of America. I own a small business that helps companies with digital marketing by making videos and providing strategy. Being in the web business it was brought to my attention that you might be working with a gentleman by the name of Anil Dash on some education initiatives. He tweeted as such. I’d like to strongly urge you to reconsider this. While I do not know Mr. Dash personally he has recently been in the news as part of a story about bullying and other issues regarding free speech on the web. It was an ugly story that does not represent any kind of American ideal. A story how Mr. Dash used his power and relationships with powerful men such as yourself to try and destroy another American’s right to earn a living and take care of his family, simply because he did not like this mans views or respect his right to freedom of speech. I know these are neither your’s or America’s ideals.

In these new, and often confusing times we need strong leadership. More than ever in fact. The technological revolution is now in full swing for America’s youth and those who will be trying to guide us and develop policy need to have a sense of what is right. Not just what is right from an educational perspective, but a human one.

Despite being a “video guy” I was so appalled that I was compelled to write about this ugly incident. You can read it here.

If you prefer to look into my eyes I also made a video regarding the incident.

I have never written to a politician in my life. I leave it all to you guys who were elected to ultimately do the right thing. I believe in the American way. An America where it is our right to express our views no matter how horrible they might seem to the majority. An America where we discuss our differences rather than try to squelch others. An America where a man is allowed to try and feed a family without the bullying of the elite. That’s the America I believe in, and with these ideals in mind I once again please ask to you reconsider your alignment with a man like Anil Dash who represents none of them.

Thank you taking the time and may g-d bless America, especially our youth.

Sincerely,
Loren Feldman
