I turn on the TV everyday to watch the news and also the highly biased media help our current president promote chaos and violence. When is it going to stop?
I just watched the clip from President Obama's press conference in Germany in which he encouraged protesting. I also heard him say he has been the subject of protests during his tenure as president.
What I didn't hear was him saying that peaceful protesting is OKAY but RIOTING, damaging property, burning the flag and President-Elect Trump in effigy is NOT OKAY. That these are criminal actions that should be prosecuted.
All the hateful slurs should stop. No one should be treated with anything less than respect for having a different opinion than yours.
If your candidate did win then act with respect and happiness. DON'T WALK AROUND CHANTING RACIST SLURS, BULLY OTHERS OR ATTACK ANYONE. You are the winners people. Act like it.
On the other hand, quit protesting, assigning blame or acting like the others are the losers in all aspects of life. OTHER PEOPLE HAD A NEED FOR CHANGE SO THAT IS WHAT THEY VOTED FOR PEOPLE!!!
If you are being paid to protest then glad you have a job...maybe for the first time.
If you are protesting for climate change...then talk to the current President about it because the President-Elect isn't in charge yet. He may have a plan he hasn't talked about yet because HE ISN'T IN THE OFFICE YET!!!
If you are protesting about not getting free education then...SUCK IT UP. THE REST OF US DIDN'T GET IT EITHER AND WE REALIZE WE WILL HAVE TO PAY OFF THE DEBT WHEN WE GRADUATE OR GRADUATED.
If you are protesting about free birth control going away...SEE ABOVE.
This is getting ridiculous. The media is only showing a small part of the United States in an uproar and the Democrats are acting like sore loser while on the other hand, some Republicans are gloating and showing bad behavior also.
This is not about the election anymore. It is about sportsmanship.
Both sides are not good examples for children or the rest of the world. We have soldiers dying in the Middle East right now for our rights as free citizens and YOU ARE PROTESTING OVER FREE EDUCATION AND BIRTH CONTROL? YOU ARE BURNING THE FLAG THAT THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR BECAUSE YOU THINK THE UNITED STATES IS GOING TO HELL OVER ONE MAN BEING ELECTED OVER A WOMAN? WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF YOU USING RACIAL SLURS TO RUN DOWN THOSE THAT VOTED DIFFERENTLY FROM YOU? WHY IS THAT OKAY?
I don't always agree with President Obama's choices or his views but I am okay with that. The United States used to allow that unless I interpreted the Constitution wrong. I also read more in depth about the Electoral College and now see why our Founding Fathers did that. It give ALL STATES an equal voice in our government. That means California and New York aren't the only ones deciding who gets to lead us. If that was the case, we would be in worse shape than we already are. Before you get upset and stop reading, I am talking about population, not politics. They have the most people in one area.
I understand the need for change over what you see as a crisis over immigration. But do you see that the undocumented (here illegally) citizens are taking benefits away from those who waited in line, paid their fees to be here legally. Why is it okay for the undocumented ones to take jobs from those here who did it the right way? Why is the United States the only country in the world to take everyone in when WE ARE HAVING A HARD ENOUGH TIME SUPPORTING THE PEOPLE HERE?
You all keep yelling about illegal immigration, climate change, free education and in some cases, legalizing marijuana. Why don't we talk about affordable healthcare for ALL citizens, not just our government officials. Why don't we talk about the people who represent us (drawing a paycheck) who don't really represent us but just get rich doing NOTHING. WE PAY THEM TO WORK FOR US SO WE ARE THE ONES WHO LET US DOWN. THEY JUST KEPT THEIR HEADS DOWN PRAYING WE DIDN'T REALIZE THEY ARE DOING NOTHING FOR US. JUST FOR THEMSELVES AND I AM TALKING ABOUT BOTH SIDES.
Good example is President and Mrs. Obama firing up the Presidential jets and having to increase the Secret Service presence to go campaign for Mrs. Clinton. How much did that cost the American people? Can you tell me? What about when the rest of our sitting leaders go home...do we pay? Should we pay? They already get other benefits from being there and have a separate fund for their staffs. How often do we fly them around the world and home? How many staff members do they really need?
I understand we have to pay them to be our voice in government but at times, it seems we bribe them when they REALLY want to be there. If they didn't want to be there, they wouldn't raise money to campaign over and over again. They would concentrate on working while they were there so they wouldn't have to go back after their term ends. Now they start working on their strategy right after the election results to either make sure they stay or to get back in.
We are fighting in a war that I am not sure can be won. We are paying more than our fair share in NATO (before I have said UN and I was wrong) when we can't support our own people.
Our healthcare costs are increasing to the point the mortality rate will shoot up because people will choose to go without health insurance or needed medication to keep a roof over the heads of their families.
So many of us have given up the thought of being employed with a job that keeps us in a home and all the bills paid.
So do any of you think the bullsh*t you are protesting is really important? Give the new guy a chance to show you what he can do. It can't be any worse than what we have already had and I am not just talking about the last 8 years.
