The United Kingdom has many thousands of job vacancies in the health and care sectors, in hospitality, manufacturing, construction, horticulture and in public, community and other occupations.
We also have thousands of able-bodied people who have risked their lives to come to our shores. They are maintained for month after month in hotels and elsewhere at the tax-payer’s expense but are forbidden to work.
Why do we deny these people the opportunity to contribute to our society whilst their status is being determined?
We are looking gift horses in the mouth – it makes no sense!
