Dear Kamlesh Tiwari,
I heard that you have made derogatory remarks against a person who is revered by more than 22 percent of the total population of this world.
O noble Indian, what would you get by cultivating hatred among your own countrymen? A few votes here and there or may be a political post.
However, I don’t put the blame on you Sir! You might have not gone through this man’s life and times or it might be that political compulsions have forced you to say what you had said. I know deep inside your heart there is no room for hatred as you’re a true Indian and ours is the nation that has welcomed every faith with open arms.
It’s human to err. You might have said that out of ignorance. I demand no apology from you. The entire blame is upon us, Muslims; we kept the message of peace, love and brotherhood that this man has brought, limited to ourselves. I know it didn’t reach you in proper form, you might have heard from hearsay about this man and his teaching, so they are to be blamed not you.
Your views about this man would have been different if you knew what he said about this country of ours.
“Hind (India) is the land from where I smell the fragrance of paradise,” this man had said.
No wonder that this was the land that was christened as “paradise” by the Arabs.
During his time, his followers used to name their daughters “Hind” (India) to show reverence to this land of ours. This man has taught us that India is the land where the doctrine of oneness of God first resonated and later reached the other parts of the world.
This man was born to establish peace and unity in the world. In his Last Sermon, he removed all forms of inequalities creating a bond of universal brotherhood. He said, “All mankind is from Adam and Eve. There is no superiority for an Arab over a non – Arab, and for a non – Arab over an Arab, or for white over the black, or for the black over the white, except in piety. Verily the noblest among you is he who is the most pious.”
He’s the one to raise the status of women when the world used to treat the other half as slaves.
He had said, “Whoever brings up two girls (or even one girl) till they come of age, will be in the paradise along with me, like my two fingers joining each other.”
He had said, “The best of you are those who are best to your wives.”
Perhaps, the teachings of this mighty man, Muhammad (Peace be upon him), had not reached you. I apologise for it on the behalf of those who should have conveyed these to you but failed to do.
No other nation on this planet bears history as rich and diverse, and still as humble and secular as ours. I urge you to help us maintain the sanctity of our land by spreading peace, love and compassion.
With Love,
A Tolerant Muslim
