Open Letter to President Halsey

Dear President Halsey,

I'm really glad and honored that us pilot from the federation have been called heroes for trying to keep our soldiers supplied, although I'm currently puzzled. If we've been such an invaluable help for the federation's cause... Why is there a 450k fine in my mailbox, waiting to be paid?

When I signed up officially to support the war effort, I must have missed the clause stating that the weapons to be sold to the Khaka Future Party are subject to a 20% Value Added Fine, someone must have forgotten to mention that in the Galnet news report. While the Khaka Future Party was begging the pilot federation for weapons, it conveniently kept those said weapon illegal and had well positioned patrol ship keeping tab on who to fine. They are perfectly happy to accept our crates and keep track how much we have contributed to the war effort but not happy enough to grant us a license to carry and sell those weapons ! This is just insane.

You know a place which doesn't make the trade of combat weapon illegal ? Knight Dock on Lugh, I asked the arms dealer if I couldn't get those weapon autographed by Eamonn or the sons of Conn, but sadly he seemed to have been busy kicking our collective butt. Don't worry the weapons work, I tried a random sample of them at the firing range in Lugh, firing at some unflattering cardboard cutout of your presidential silhouette.

There's One Hundred, Thirty Eight, tons of personal weapons in Qureshi Enterprise, right now, which were sold by the very rebels who the Federation fought tooth and nail until ammos ran out. Don't worry, they aren't easy to miss, there's the Crimson State Group logo on them and stink of mint.

If I were living on Lugh right now, I would start getting used to the idea of drinking Shamrock Shakes because it's not with that kind of mismanaged mess that the Federation is ever going to take back what it lost.

I demand that you grant us a pardon for the "crime" of buying weapons for our mens and womens fighting desperately in the docking bays of Lugh. And grant us a license to freely trade weapon inside the federation's border.

Sincerely,

CMDR Azin
