Dear You,
You are a forever friend. We have a friendship that is unlike any I have met here at college. All through high school we had dreams of going to college together, living together, and having the time of our lives. Unfortunately this didn’t happen. We go to different colleges and have different friends but THAT’S OKAY. I am beyond thankful to not have gone to school with my best friend from high school. Sometimes it is hard when you don’t see each other for months at a time because your schedules never seem to match up.
Our friendship has beaten all odds and I know you will always be apart of my life. We have a stronger friendship now that we are apart and that wouldn’t be possible if we went to the same school. High school was a hard time for us. We both were new to the school and knew only a few if any people. I came from private school and you came from a different state. Somehow our paths crossed and we have been inseparable ever since. From sitting on the floor in P.E. and pissing off our gym teacher, to the heartbreaks, to getting in trouble, to being mentors, to graduating, and everything in between you have been there.
I want you to know how great you are. You are beautiful inside and out. You are amazing in every single way. I know it’s hard, not being able to be just a car ride away isn’t always easy but we manage to do it somehow. You’re going to be successful one day, you have already accomplished so much and I couldn’t be a prouder best friend.
Some people lose their best friend from high school but I thankfully didn’t. I could not imagine a life without you. You make me a better person. You inspire me daily and I know if I’m ever down you’re still only a phone call or Facetime away. I can call you if I’m walking alone at night, if I just had a bad day, if I had a good day, or if I’m just bored. I am so grateful for that.
So, Thank You. Thank you for always being there and being the best best friend a girl could ever ask for. Thank you for doing high school with me but most importantly thank you for sticking around. I love you best friend.
