Mr. Ian,
You’ve met my father, Moktar on many occasions. You claim he’s “one of the good ones”. By that, you mean he’s not one that carries a bomb, or one that wants to hijack a plane and kill you. Mr. Ian, your perception of Muslims is overwhelmingly skewed. You fail to realize that Islam is a religion founded upon the ideals of goodness. You fail to realize that an American is more likely to shoot you than a Muslim is. Mr. Ian, you say that we should ban all Muslims from entering this country. Is it not that this country was founded upon the ideals of freedom? Is it not that this country’s first amendment unequivocally states that all men have the right to pursue their own religious beliefs? But Mr. Ian, Muslims are out to get you. That’s why you can’t leave this country! France, don’t go, ISIS! England, can’t go, ISIS! In doing so, you cater to the will of terrorists, they’ve won. By not going to Europe, you show them that they’ve succeeded at terrorizing you— which is exactly what they wanted to do in the first place. So Mr. Ian, the best thing you can do to combat terrorism, is not to hate Muslims, but to love them, for by hating, the problem only gets worse. Their hate for you fuels, and another attack occurs. However, what you fail to realize, is that a Muslim is not a terrorist. Most mass shooters are outright Christians. Do you hate Christians? No! You are one! So, Mr. Ian, because .1% of Christians are terrorists, should we ban them too?
Sincerely,
Zach
