The story was about a boy who got stranded in the middle of the ocean. The story tells about the adventure he goes through. How he manages to survive in a boat with some wild animals. As the story goes on slowly the animals attack each other. A Tiger was the last of them and survived being stranded. Pi later is being asked questions about his experience of being stranded. The reporters did not believe some aspect of his story because it was unrealistic. Pi then later confesses that there weren’t any animals. That he survived being stranded with Cannibal who killed the others including his mother.

We attend to find comfort by not excepting reality. Some of us like to just believe in higher power because it can show us there is hope. The issue I came across is not wanting to face reality. In the story on page 10 he says, “I have a story that will make you believe in God.” Pi went through a traumatic experience that was really hard for him expect in his life. We should be able to seek high power just because there are somethings we don’t want to believe in, and we attend to believe that making our on world is the best for us.

The connection I had is how the people reacted. It bothers me how people can put off what is not normal. What is unordinary. It Makes me think and worry about how much the world is not seeing. Other examples you can as well put it as is seeing the world suffer. “If we citizens do not support our artists, then we sacrifice our imagination on the altar of crude reality and we end up believing in nothing and having worthless dreams.” (Page 10) There are many countries that are poor. The world may know of it, but do not take action. I remember when I was younger and I lived in Houston Texas. I lived in a nice neighborhood. It wasn’t until one then our neighbors had a car come by and do a drive by. A couple shots were taken in our house. Reality hit me then.

The audience that I am talking to is everyone. I feel that it is necessary for the everyone to be open minded and not come to conclusion so quick because of fear or any negative thought. Many teens around the world move on with their social life and at times can be ungrateful for what they have. Not saying that they are bad. Just saying that if everyone knew how much was given to them, there would be a lot more appreciation towards everything.

The purpose of my letter is to have people be open minded. We need to have those who aren’t heard to be heard. There are many opportunities we can miss that are life changing. The life changing experience that we came back us better. Instead of losing hope we should succeed in help by giving hope to those in need.

There are people who have not been heard and have incredibly stories to share. We should hold back because of what society would feel about it. Pi had an incredible story. He lost family. Lost hope in himself at one point. Lost everything he had. Yes, what he went through can be odd, cruel. Although it was life changing for him and made him open his eyes more about the world.
