An open appeal to all those following #AppWapsi tag to flood Snapdeal's playstore to attract their attention.
first Note, This is not in intention to save SnapDeal, but it is intended to alert public that this tag is hijacking the root cause and purpose. And the following are my personal opinions and does not intend to directly or indirectly hurt anyone. Even the use of Mr. Amir khan's name is what i would like to say about his statement that india has become intolerant, as i am also an indian.
A Few things i would like to say to you
i) I presume all those following the tag had good intentions that this person , despite being a celebrity , made irresponsible comments against the whole india without understanding the full meaning of his comments. By down rating snapdeal on app store isnt directly causing any impact on Aamir khan but it is impacting snapdeal which is directly the wrong intention of this hashtag - Understand that this action is only making the snapdeal company repent, not the person who caused this......
ii) Mr. Aamir khan isnt the owner of snapdeal , he is just a brand ambassador who has been chosen by snapdeal. you can write to customer care at snapdeal to take second thoughts that he is disliked for the comments against india.
iii) He was chosen brand ambassador for Tourism under 'Incredible India' without knowing he could make such derogatory comments against whole india in direct contradiction to his purpose of being the brand ambassador and being an indian celebrity and being an indian citizen.
iv) Aamir Khan is what he is today, only because of the fans and followership Indian citizens have offered him, whether he forgot that or not, thats the truth. So, for him to have attained the celebrity status, we are responsible.
We all know that we are at peace with each other. a handful of people who might be fighting with each other doesnt make the whole india intolerant. Mr Aamir khan should have understood the basic fact that , If india was intolerant, he wont have had the freedom of speech to express these things. Having said that, If he felt some party or someone is not doing it right, he has constitutional rights as indian citizen to express his feeling about those people. But accusing whole india as if u dont belong here or u dont know india, is hurting the majority of india who are living at peace with all sorts of religions and want to live at peace with each other.
Having watched few episodes of Satyameva Jayathe and many of his movies, one would have expected more responsible actions from such a celebrity, atleast when it comes to public appearances.
We all do expect Mr Aamir Khan understands that following the flow of the tag he might have made a mistake in interpreting what intolerance means and what his statement means. Especially to a person like him to feel that his family is scared to live in india but it is safe enough for him to talk ill about the whole of india , is far from any common man's comprehension.
My personal opinion is , its only because india is tolerant towards every citizen, people like him are able to talk anything that comes in their minds... I would really like to know how many countries in the world allow such comments be made by the public directly against the country degrading the constitution at an international level.
