Dear Clients,
MyBlogGuestSpring is historically a tumultuous time in the SEO world. In years past, spring has introduced major algorithm shifts like Panda and Penguin. It also brought about a host of manual actions like the initial assault on blog networks. This spring, unfortunately, was no exception.
On Thursday, Google handed out harsh penalties to many sites who participated in the guest blogging community myblogguest.com.
The majority of our clients’ sites were not directly affected by these penalties, but at least one unfortunately was. More broadly, however, this action by Google marks a stark change in the SEO rules and has implications that cannot be ignored.
I am writing this letter to inform you about this development, provide some context and explain the actions...

Dear Guido,
I really enjoy the Python programming language. Coming from a C/C++/Java world, I have found new levels of productivity with it. Executable pseudo code, great library support, dynamic typing, emphasis on well structured and readable code – this is all very much to my liking. We use it here at SnapLogic to great effect, and many other organizations have similarly positive experiences with it. Thank you for giving us Python!
Sadly, there is one aspect of the language, which is beginning to bother me more and more. And I know I’m not the first one to point it out. A strange design choice, which leaves the Python interpreter – by design – crippled on modern hardware. You know what I’m talking about, Guido, don’t you? That’s right, I’m talking about the GIL, the Global...

Dear Committee Members,
After hearing the exciting news about Minneapolis winning the bid to host the 2018 Super Bowl, we immediately thought about the positive impact the big game will have on businesses in the Twin Cities area (which is our headquarter’s hometown). Between the award-winning local restaurant scene and quality hotel accommodations, there’s no doubt ticket holders will be kept warm and well fed during their visit.
But beyond the typical fan hospitality, we thought it might be helpful to provide some insight about other local businesses available to cater to your planning needs – especially in case the unexpected happens. While Minnesota is known for their niceness, these local companies also know a thing or two about doing business in the city. Almost all have been...

Dear SWADE and all the faithful of Saabs United,
First let me thank you for your kind open letter, and invitation to address your community. I needn’t tell you that your passion and devotion to Saab is truly impressive. Given the key role you played in rallying support around Saab and helping to fend off its demise, I appreciate your strong emotional attachment to the brand. You are all part of the Saab family, and as such have a very personal view on all events surrounding Saab.
I am excited to share a bit about myself so we can begin to become better acquainted.
Having read many of the comments regarding my appointment, I was left with the impression that I am a bit of an unknown, and misunderstood entity in your inner circle. I feel it’s important for you to know that I am a...

Dear Prospective Student,
The MFA in Acting program at the University of South Carolina is a specialized degree with an identity strongly connected to experimentation, new work and a company-like structure. With only eight MFA actors on campus at any given moment – recruiting is every other year and the third year students participate in an off campus internship – the interaction of the students on a daily basis is very concentrated. The intensive nature of the training requires that the actors maintain a very professional attitude while existing in a highly interdependent disciplined environment. By following the structure of a producing company, the program provides the means for deep and innovative inquiry, rapid artistic growth, a high level of productivity, a well-defined...

Dear Mr. Pandit:
I have been a Citibank credit card customer for 22 years. Honestly, I don’t know why I still am.
Today I received an e-mail and a phone call about potential fraud on my account.
Normally this would be a welcome call as I don’t want anyone stealing my identity and charging things on my account. Except that of the at least one hundred times you have bothered me with a communication like this, you have been right exactly ZERO times. ZERO! You are ALWAYS wrong. Major league baseball players only have to succeed a quarter of the time or more to be considered decent hitters. You’re never right.
As upsetting and annoying as this is, I understand that detecting fraudulent purchases using algorithms is a hard problem. But that’s not even the worst of it.
When the...

Dear Walt Disney Co and Skinny Corp LLC,
Recently Wired.com wrote an article on how awesome it was that Disney was able to utilise 200k+ artists to make their t-shirts relevant to the older, more “hip” crowds again, and provide new takes on old classics.
Threadless pays artists for their awesome designs and ideas, but what about for giving them the reason to have a working relationship with Disney? Sure legal depts and an opportunistic spirit helped you garner the actual contracts, but what made the goliath Disney, even become aware of the up and coming t-shirt company?
TRON, and a young boy that loves arcades.
3 years ago, I designed TRON inspired hoodies for the t-shirt company. They were met with so much success (8 reprintings in a month and an additional SARK version) that...

Dear Graduate Directors,
I hope all is well with you, and that all of your charges have landed safely and happily in tenure-track positions at high salaries in desirable locations with compatible cultures, happy partners, and book contracts.
I hope a lot of things. That doesn’t always make them happen.
Anyway, I’m still reeling from a wonderful meeting I had on Monday with some of your counterparts. The ‘hook’ for the meeting was a sense that many Ph.D.’s aren’t landing in R1 positions, like they had been trained for, but that they weren’t well-prepared for full-time positions at more teaching-focused colleges. As a result, even in a market with a severe labor surplus, it’s often difficult to find good people. It seems like there’s a potential harmony of interest here. If your grads...

Today a monumental decision was made that shook our nation. Marriage was classified by the Supreme Court as a right that is given to all people of the United States under our constitution.
What pains me is that, on what should be a joy filled day, throughout our nation, Christians have started spewing hate toward the decision, those who were directly affected, and our president. They condemned the apparent "sins" of these homosexuals and said that our president has ruined our country. This saddens me greatly, as we are taught as young children in the christian faith that our main job is to love our neighbour as ourself. Apparently, this love has been forgotten by many members of our community who feel the need to pour our their hate to others around them and on social media.
The...

Dear designer of DVD menus,
We appreciate that you'd probably like to get to the point of this letter but first we need to remind you of who wrote it and who owns the copyright. Just bear with us a moment while we show you our logo and play some music. It's a bit long-winded and you've almost certainly seen it before but it's important to our brand.
Before we get to the point as promised, perhaps you'd be interested in some other letters that may or may not bear any resemblance to this letter? We'll show you them anyway, just in case. No, don't skip to the end of this sentence, we're not going to allow you to do that. You might think this letter is for you, but we still own it.
Before we proceed any further, we'd like to talk to you for a moment about copyright and piracy. Again...
