Dear Eve Ensler, I want to start off by saying thank you. I appreciate the time you took to reach out to me, because I know you’re incredibly busy. I know there are much more important people in this world than myself, so I appreciate you engaging in dialogue with me and my colleague Kelleigh Driscoll. This all started because on Twitter, I addressed some issues that I had with V-Day, your organization, and the way it treated Indigenous women in Canada. I said that you are racist and dismissive of Indigenous people. You wrote to me that you were upset that I would suggest this, and not even 24 hours later you were on the Joy Behar Show referring to your chemotherapy treatment as a “Shamanistic exercise“. Your organization took a photo of Ashley Callingbull, and used it to promote...

Dear Women of The View, In a recent Hot Topics segment, following the Miss USA pageant, something happened on your show that needs to be addressed. Something that, as women, should not be tolerated in our society. All of you, including your guest host Michelle Collins, mocked the courageous talent that Miss Colorado presented to her panel of judges, a large audience, and almost 1 million television viewers. I realize that Miss USA pageants, as a whole, have often been mocked for their anti-feminist categories – “who looks better in a bikini?” – and the famous answer of “encouraging world peace”, but don’t you think it is about time we start celebrating our gender rather than continuing to put US down? As the talent category began, Miss Colorado presented her talent – nursing –...

Dear Ms. Behar, I am a nurse. I have been a nurse for thirty years. Most of my career has been spent in Emergency Nursing. My career setting has ranged from busy Level 1 Trauma Centers to the unique challenges of rural emergency nursing. I have a Masters Degree and I am currently working on my PhD in Nursing. When I heard about the comments you made on television, I felt like I should sit right down and write you a letter. I don’t watch commercial television. I saw a clip of your recent comments on YouTube. I certainly have never watched The View in the past. From what I understand from my limited recent exposure, The View is a TV show where middle-aged women with coffee sit around a table and make fun of other women. As captivating as that sounds, I have doubts that I will ever...

Dear Ms. Behar and Ms. Collins, I come from a medical family of nurses and doctors (yes, I put the nurses first). You clearly need some educating, so allow me to tell you about a nurse who is near and dear to my heart. My mom has been a nurse for 39 years and 4 months. She leaves for work everyday with her scrubs on and her stethoscope around her neck. HER, not a doctor's, stethoscope around HER neck. She spends her days with bodily fluids. She risks disease from these bodily fluids everyday. She comforts. She listens. She medicates to take her patients' pain away. She communicates. She teaches. You know what she doesn't do more often than not? Take bathroom breaks and eat lunch. When it snows or there is another dangerous weather event, my mom has no option but to go...

Carlee, I want to start by saying thank you. Thank you for being such an awesome person. Thank you for making me laugh. Thank you for being yourself. Thank you for being so genuine and honest. Thank you for understanding my weird ways. And most importantly thank you for understanding who I am. This list could go on for pages. I hope that you like the sweater. I hope that when you wear the sweater it will bring you warm memories. Also, when you wear this sweater always remember that no matter how far away or how close I will always be here for you. I want you to know I will always support you and be your best friend, come what may. The fact of the matter is this, there not many people in this world who are lucky enough to meet someone like you. I am truly lucky and blessed to have...

To all involved, I am a cube aficionado. If I had to choose a single format to play for the rest of my days, I would happily draft a cube. Now when they first announced that there would be a new cube, I was excited. Not often do we get an opportunity to play a new format, but getting to play with an all legendary cube seems like a grand experience. However, once the full list was posted, and after drafting it many, many times, I have come to the conclusion that there is a lot that can be improved upon. I would like to preface my criticism with some highlights about the cube. Have I enjoyed drafting it? Yes. This cube does have some situations that lead to very exciting moments. As a streamer, it makes for dramatic action. The opportunities for huge, swingy plays make for entertaining...

Dear brothers and sisters in arms, I am a tank. I enjoy tanking. It's a responsible job with plenty of risks and a nice amount of challenge. If I do it properly and with the right support from DPS and healers, I can really speed up the content we're running. I enjoy tanking so much, that I have several thousand 5 man instances under my belt as a tank through 4 expansions, the vast majority through random groups. I leveled as a tank back in TBC. I have tanked on all 5 tank classes, though the vast majority of my experience at max level is on a Paladin tank. That's why I'm saddened to see so many DPS claim that their tanks are lazy because they sometimes wait a few seconds before pulling. Some of these DPS even pull themselves because they want things to move faster and assume that...

Dear PUG Hunters, Since getting back I’ve leveled up a warrior as a dungeon finder partner with Zel. I tank, she heals, no queues. Here I am with an awesome helm. Since I’ve pretty much just done PUGs since level 30 I’ve noticed a few trends in your class that I feel I need to point out. Now I know there are good hunters. I’ve seen them, I’ve raided with them. But based on the hunters I’ve seen the last few weeks in PUGs, I am starting to realize the good ones might be the exception than the rule. What I find annoying can best be summed up with three examples of bad play: The Tale of Mr. Fluffy One thing that happens more than it should is pets have some kind of taunt on. This makes sense when questing. It does not make sense in dungeons. In the wilds of Azeroth, a hunter...

Dear Sri Rohan Murthy, I read with interest your article on DailyO explaining why you funded Harvard to start and run the Murty Classical Library. I shall be honest and blunt to a fault without meaning any disrespect. I am sure you agree that a frank discourse and exchange helps all of us. If it helps, I’ve been a senior academic for over three decades in various spheres related to Indology and Sanskrit among other related disciplines. In that spirit, let me state at the outset that you have been taken for a ride by Prof. Sheldon Pollock or to be more truthful, by an Anglophonic attachment. Just because Harvard has experience in bringing out a classical series is no reason for your giving them the largesse. You could have easily done the job in India by getting Indian Universities...
