Dear Auburn University,
I would like to start out by saying thank you. Thank you for giving me the best first year of college I could have ever imagined. You have brought me some of the best memories, that I will hold forever. Although my time so far has been short, I have learned so many things over the course of this year that only Auburn would be able to teach me.
Thank you for teaching me how to take pride in my school. Auburn takes a lot of pride of "The Auburn Family" saying, which is why I think it drew me to Auburn, other than hearing my dad talk about how indescribable his four years were here. The Auburn Family is much more than it is made out to be, and once you are a student, it makes more sense. One of my favorite lessons I've learned is the difference between Auburn men and women, and non Auburn men and women. I had always heard about it, but I never understood what it truly meant. It is hard to put into words but once you get it, you get it.
Thank you for giving me the best friends possible. College is such a big change and you can't do it alone. The friendships I've made will be ones that I keep and cherish forever. I know that if I ever needed ANYTHING, there are people that would be there for me, instantly. Knowing that is one of the most comforting things ever. While it will be hard seeing everyone going separate directions over the summer, that is just a better reason for road trips. Everyone will keep meeting new people and creating new friendships, but it will be hard to ever beat or replace the ones from this year. I am so thankful for each and every one of them, it is hard to wrap my brain around how blessed I really am.
My last thank you goes to my parents. There is no way I could have gotten through Auburn without them. Constant encouragement and they never stopped pushing me. They were always pushing me to do my best and along side me (over the phone) each step of the way. I could never thank them enough for allowing me the opportunity to get to go to the best school imaginable.
One year down, three more to go. As my Auburn journey continues, this year will always be close to my heart. I found out a lot about myself that I'm glad I was able to find out at Auburn. I look forward to the years to come, and the countless memories that will be created. Thank you for everything, Auburn University.
Yours truly,
A proud Auburn student
