Dear High School Students.
In High School, student study and learn about the wonders of the world. In High school, they learn about the world wars, what pi is, what photosytheis is, and anything and everything in between. Also, they learn how to strive and study to read their goals.
Students need to know what happens around the world, it is good they are learning, but sometimes they use technology to make communication closer or to make relationships with other people around the world. In social media, sometimes people post things that sound dangerous or threatening, young people write their opinion on those issues when a student wants to go a university, the university prevents him from entering because of their posts.
Students should be very careful about what they are writing in social media. For example, Kyle Kashuv, on 18, years old boy and a survivor of last year’s school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, had made comments online when he was 16 years old. He made a comment on the high school shootings, and he wrote “Everybody right to have gun.”Because of that, he could not attend Harvard University.
students should know they cannot write anything they want on. Maybe when they want to go to college, the college uses those words as reason they cannot go to the college they like. An other example is about Olivia Jade Giannulli, the daughter of Loughlin and Giannulli. Her parents paid a half million dollars to the University of southern California to get their two daughters in, report by NPR News.Olivia posted a video online, and she said in the video,’I do not really care about school, as you guys all know.” That video caused trouble. Although she repeatedly said that education is important it still created a lot of problems. She cannot continue studying at college because of this video.
The students at High School need to be careful of what they say online or write, so that they do not get in trouble in the future.
