Dear Emilia,
I'm sure you get a lot of these kinds of letters and comments from Game of Thrones fans - so this might not be anything too new!
I've always enjoyed your acting on the tv series and I have found your storyline one of the strongest alongside Peter Dinklage's whilst the others wained or were cut short for 'dramatic effect'. So in that regard I am looking forward to seeing the next series, especially as I know yours and Peter's storylines are perhaps the only safe ones left and if anything were to happen to you two then there'd be uproar.
The reason I'm writing this is to offer some career advice from an outside perspective. After seeing the latest Terminator film I was quite surprised that you chose to do it, not that I in any way believe that you shouldn't be diverse with your acting choices, but it just didn't feel right and it feels as though that is how it felt whilst filming.
You are a beautiful and talented young woman and I in no way want to discourage you from doing whatever you want but I don't think the allure of Hollywood and blockbuster franchises should always be welcomed with an open door. Especially when it is on a film series on the nose dive...the best of the Terminator came years ago and that's where it should have been left.
Of course it isn't your fault that the film was flawed, I don't know how it must feel for an actor to see their film fall apart in front of them, especially when the director so publicly stated his annoyance at a key spoiler being put in the trailer. This I have to say I noticed and couldn't believe that modern trailers have gotten to the extent where they have to spell out the entire movie for the public.
My point is that I think you are doing a great job and don't need to rush into anything!! I feel like this is the advice that should have been given to Kit Harrington as he rushed into being the leads in a few films and they all fell far short and it'd be a shame for this to happen to you.
I think there is an inclination for the agents and companies around you to rush people into success and the public eye, often when the timing doesn't feel right or the project is wrong.
So I just wanted to write as a big fan of yours I'd rather see you do what you are passionate about rather than settling into the Hollywood generic interview mode that the public always see people fall into.
I wish you all the best and total happiness, I'd just rather not see you drop into mediocre content, we know John Snow know's nothing but I hope we can get through to our khaleesi!
ps. can't wait for the next GoT series!!!
