The sport I love so much. You’ve done so much for me. Got me so far from where I started. You’re like a best friend to me. You’ve been there for me all my life since i’ve met you. All the years of playing has been great. I’ve improved so much with you. Some people ask me where are your friends and stuff like that and I just say “most of my friends aren’t going to be here when i’m shining so I don’t really need them.” That wouldn’t really make them my friends though. But there’s only been a couple there with me the whole time, some people from my team and then baseball in general. You can say baseball has had me no matter what. That’s why I play the game, I love the game. We’ve had a great past and present, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. Yeah we’ve had some bad moments, losses, injuries, cuts, but our bond is still so strong together. Sounds like a real relationship in someway.

I remember some years ago when I had one of my night games. I absolutely loved night games. So in this game I had done great. The first at bat I went up and was down in the count I believe. But when the pitcher wound up and threw a fastball down the middle I hit it and it was a fly ball to left field. It looked like it was just going to be an out but then I looked up at it and then heard the crowd cheer and realized I had hit a homerun. I was so excited because I never hit one over the fence and it was the first one I ever hit. As I rounded the bases with excitement there was an indescribable feeling I had. Later in that game we were losing and then I came up to bat again with the bases loaded. I already had a lot of confidence and encouragement from the home run I hit earlier in the game. I wasn't thinking of what was going to happen next though. Believe it or not I ended hitting a grand slam to tie up the game. The next half inning I went to pitch. It was going good until I just lost control out of nowhere and started to walk batters. Then that one hit from the other team and the game was over. I was devastated but wasn't really worried about the game because of how good I did in it.
So I learned that you baseball can turn out all different ways. This is just me wanting to thank you for everything you've done for me. All the good memories and all the bad memories that make up the relationship between us. You taught me things in the past and I still have more things to learn in the future. I just hope that you take me somewhere great in the years.

With sincere love,

Dear baseball,

Logan
