Dear Senator Sanders: We are writing to ask that you consider addressing the broken US approach to foreign policy in the Middle East, and particularly Israel-Palestine. As a diverse group of individual American citizens living both within and outside the United States, we represent no one but ourselves, but together we represent many years of experience living, working and/or studying in the Middle East region. Our political perspectives are markedly different and our backgrounds equally diverse, but we agree on one thing: We strongly believe that in addition to economic and social issues, our US political establishment needs to be challenged on the critical issue of our nation’s relationship with Israelis and Palestinians. Given the daily coverage of atrocities (committed by...

To the United States of America I am Yemen – a country at war, a people in mourning, and a land blistered by the vengeful wrath which is imperialism. I address you today as a foreigner in my own land … I address you today for my people, my mountains and my valleys have burnt under the furious fire of war – a fire you have yourself work to feed, prop, and offer cover for. Although I am foreign to you, although my tongue speaks a different rhythm and my knees kneel in prayers when maybe you stand, my people … I, aspire for the same Freedom and the same Liberties you do. Do you not hear my people’s cries? Do you not see the evil you have stood by as you argued politics and manoeuvred your way out? Do you not taste our bitter tears … so many of them I have shed hoping you...

An open letter to CNN I am a mid thirties, colleage eduated, smart and independent woman. And its not often that I am as confused as I am right now. I, as well as millions of people, watched the debate on PBS last night. I heard the same words, saw the same enthusiasm, the same occasional childish behavior that everyone else saw. In my honest, humble and probably completely irrevelant opinion, I thought that Bernie Sanders won the debate outright. His replies to attacks on Hillary Clinton's part were precise, honest and relatable. He was debating in a spirit of how a future president should. He was incredibly inspiring, he spoke in the voice of the people and he was, for the most part, right. Every online poll I researched had Bernie Sanders winning by an overwhelming majority. Yet,...

Dear Senator Sanders, Greetings and Salutations! Thank you for your steadfast devotion to equality and justice for all. I hope this letter greets you with genuine fervor and wholehearted seriousness. First, a few personal details to paint my point of view in the proper light: I am a Father and Husband. I am logical and reasonable. I am in love with veritable truth. I am a disabled U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. I am an unemployed college graduate. I have ever increasing student debt with no real devices for repayment. I have grown disenchanted with our form of government. I display the characteristics of a Direct Social Democrat, but do not identify with any labels. I am writing you this, an open letter, to address a few points from your campaign, and more specifically;...

Dear Hillary, As a resident from historically and possibly the bluest state in our country, I believe you are the ONLY viable candidate that can bring the changes America is desperately seeking. I understand why Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are receiving the support they are from young voters and other groups. They are receiving this widespread support for much the same reasons our current President did. Americans want change. Due to your extensive political experience and career you are being viewed as The Establishment. I don't view you as such. You are a seasoned veteran whose successful history of bi-partisan negotiations (sticks and carrots) are being used against you when they should be viewed as a strength. If Americans would just sit back a moment and view things...

Dear Governor Ambode, I am so disappointed in the way the Lagos Marathon was undertaken. I understand that the idea of the marathon was to boost and attract positive attention for our city. But I must say the way the prizes were organized is grossly shameful. For the life of me, I cannot fathom a logical reason other than an intense Xenophilia, that the prize money was broken down into two separate groups. A winning foreigner would be awarded $50,000 while a Nigerian winner, of a race in IN NIGERIA, would win N=1,000,000 which is equal to $5,000 or much less on the black market. Are we, as a country so self-loathing that we think if a foreigner completed the same taks as a local, that the local is ONLY be entitled to 10% of the foreigner’s earnings merely because of the foreigner'...

To, President Elect Barack Obama, White House, Washington DC, United States of America Namaste Obama Jee, A hearty congratulations on being re-elected as the President of United States. I do feel America and the rest of the world will be much better off with you at the helm of affairs. But unlike other Indian citizens I didn’t actually follow the Presidential race closely but was updated all the time, thanks to interpret Tweets from my Tibetan-American friends. I am from India, a country touted as the next global leader. I seriously doubt it though but not because I don’t believe in my people but mostly that I don’t believe in the politicians running this country. As you gear up to take your seat in the White House I have these following suggestions which I think if accepted...

I am writing this letter to try and come to my own conclusion on what is happening around me in my own country. I am confused, frustrated and upright up scared on what my proud country is coming to. I am a white South African with no future at all. I was born and raised here but yet I do not feel part of this country anymore. With the racism slurs hat keeps on being tossed around it is hard to see what is really the truth. I want to believe that this is the best county in the world, that it is my country and that everything will be fine and work out at the end of the day. But every time I turn on the news I hear the same thing, corruption, death, racism... When will we as a country move forward and stop picking in the past? How can we come together as a nation to build up this...

Dear Huffington Post, Inspired by the popular Christmas story "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" I would like to ask a question that I think only you may be able to answer. Because, just as in the story I believe that when the Huffington post says it, it is so. Well, not exactly but let's for a moment assume that it is so. Every day I read, watch and hear the news. CNN, Fox, Washington Post only a few of the many, many news outlets there are. And every single day I am confused, I am torn, I am exhausted. Why? Because when once I believed that being a journalist was a profession with honor, integrity and trustworthiness, today I am not so sure about that any more. Why do I feel like every day I am being fed only what a certain media wants me to hear and feel stirred into a...

Dear _______________, There is a serious health crisis that needs to be addressed right away. You can help me and so many others live some sort of a normal life if you learn the truth that has been hidden from you about drugs in America. I am a single, disabled woman at home devoting my time to making sure I can get the proper health care I need now and in the future. I work from my bed, lying down, every day. Two things you should know. Opioids are not bad. Chronic pain patients are not addicts. THERE ARE 100,000,000 (Yes 100 million) PEOPLE IN THE U.S. LIVING WITH CHRONIC, DISABLING PAIN I work independently as a writer, advocate and researcher, without pay, on the subject of the fair treatment and management of chronic pain. With me are thousands of others —...
