The whole process of preparing and undergoing a heart surgery procedure is hard enough for the patient. Then comes the restlessness for getting back up on your feet as soon as possible. But every medical procedure demands a proper resting time so that you recuperate completely. So what comes after the surgery is as important as the procedure in order to gain a good health status. The recovery also depends on the type of surgery one is undergoing. Open procedures require more care and healing time than minimally invasive cardiac procedures. Therefore it becomes essential to understand the following points: Follow per-operative instructions Depending on your condition, the surgeon may suggest certain lifestyle changes or recommend particular medicines to prepare your body for the...

The society we live in is fairly free and unrestricted. We have access to ideas and items that suit our personal interests, such as religion, careers, and entertainment. We are used to freedom, justice, and knowing what is actually true. We are the lucky ones. People in the past, present, and future have to live with censorship and propaganda. This has been proven to be true in the news, documentaries, primary sources, and books. Times like World War II and places like North Korea have dictatorships with brainwashed citizens. They can’t freely read, listen to music, or speak without fear of persecution. These facts should be a dystopian fantasy. People should be afraid of living in a world that is censored, that restricts uniqueness. I believe that governments and societies should not...

I have to start this off by stating some facts. I love everyone in my life, I am more than blessed, I am so grateful for every opportunity that I have been given, I know I chose to take on these responsibilities, and this does not contain complaints. I have taken on the responsibilities of having multiple full time and part time jobs, volunteering, attending summer school, and trying to stay afloat. The reasons I have chosen to do these things range from needing to pay for school and debt, all the way to trying to get ahead in life to be able to do the things I love. My life has given me many trials and also many victories, much of those victories have come with the help of my friends, loved ones, and people who are close to me and for that I am so thankful to everyone. Another...

Dear Elites, Of all the many things I could write, the only two that won't become obvious to you within 8 years is that you should have invited me into your employ 4 years ago, since you have access to the fact that I am a genius, and that you should now, today, institute a UBI of at least $1500 per adult American per week. Have a nice petite Morte.

Do you ever feel like achieving weight loss is getting harder and harder as time goes on? Have you tried diets and weight loss supplements, only to find yourself disappointed in another failure? It turns out there may be reasons beyond diet, exercise, and supplementation that are influencing your weight. I found this out firsthand last summer, and finally began achieving weight loss after 2 years of failed attempts. My changes were simple, yet (for me) lifechanging! I genuinely hope for the same changes to improve your life as well. I entered into summer of 2018 weighing 198 pounds. I was not considered obese by many people’s standards, but I was heavier than I was comfortable with. With years of consistent exercise and trying every new fat burner on the market I was beginning to lose...

Dear Naltrexone, My first question is why. Why does most of the country not know about you? You, naltrexone, single-handedly have the power to improve the lives of millions of people living in the U.S. today. The Oxford University Press has reported on how you are scientifically proven to be an incredibly effective treatment for alcoholism, but hardly anyone is implementing you! You bind to opioid receptors in the brain, working to stop addiction by removing the pleasure usually received from drinking, allowing people to still drink while you help them. Additionally, you’re even more effective in people who use nicotine, so with this easier path to recovery you provide I am still amazed how the world doesn’t know your name. I understand that many rehab centers across the country...

Ever since I was a little boy, I have always been fascinated with cars. From elegant old-timers to flashy race cars, I was able to name every make and model. When I was 16, my parents bought me my first car. It wasn’t the best or the most attractive thing in the world, but it got me wherever I wanted to go and, more importantly, it was completely mine and it gave me the freedom I so desperately needed at that age. That is when my love for driving truly began. From that point on, I have changed many vehicles, opted for different makes, models and styles, but with each car I’ve bought, my love grew more and more. Before I bought my current car, I couldn’t believe I could be in love with an automobile as much as this, but I truly think it is the most incredible possession I’ve ever owned...

Some studies show that people with PTSD have an increased suicide risk. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a type of anxiety disorder. PTSD is recognized as a psychobiological mental disorder than can affect survivors not only of combat experience, but also terrorist attacks, natural disasters, serious accidents, assault or abuse, or even sudden and major emotional losses. Each year in the U.S it’s a rough 8 million people who suffer from PTSD, and around 100 people commit suicide every day, all year round. How PTSD relates to Slaughterhouse-Five is that Billy Pilgrim suffered tremendously from this disorder. Billy went into WW2 at such a young age and experienced many horrors of war. He has constant flashbacks of his time during war, he seen death, he was abused by his fellow...

Do you remember when you were a kid and you believed everything your parents told you? When Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy were all real? Well, today there are still people who reside in this state, but not with their parents, but rather their government. In countries such as North Korea, Eritrea, and Saudi Arabia have censored media and little to no access to the truth (cpj.org). It isn’t safe to be told lies and not the truth. Media should be free and not restricted, and everyone should have freedom of the press, as to not take away one’s sense of liberty. When you take into account all of the reasons why withholding information and altering the truth from the people is wrong, it becomes a much bigger issue. First of all, the total population estimate in only the...

I don't know where you are now. Maybe close to me. Or in a distant country or outside the solar system But I'm sure you can read this letter """ Hello Do you remember me i'm ali, a useless person as you call me Do you remember when you were telling me "you can't do anything" Do you remember when you were telling me "you can't Walk in this way". Do you remember when you were telling me "you cant become a programmer". Do you remember when you were telling me "you're useless". Maybe you forgot everything But I still remember I still have memories from when I was child: no one wanted to play with me, they would tell me things like "you're blind— we can't play with you. Go and look for [another] blind person to play with you. You're different from me, go away." You stand in my...
