An open letter to the people who hate my school.

Parish Hill. A small but mighty school that honestly not many people have heard of.

If you have listened to some of the people in our three little towns, you may think that our school is this horrible place that is effecting your taxes and where kids are deprived of any oppertunity that a student at a bigger school might offer. With this being said, I thought it might be nice to get a students opinion considering noone has thought about us up to this point.

So here is what I see when I step back and think about Parish Hill:

I see a school where the music department wins gold and platinum and places in the top spots in state competitions. I see a school where all of the sports teams make states. I see a school where everyone works together to hold an event that raises over 5,000 dollars to donate to help fight local hunger. I see a school where all of the students know each others names, and when someone new comes in, they almost immediately are welcomed by a group of students. I see a school that helps any family in need, whether it be financially, or everyone wearing hats or ribbons in support of a family. I see a school where students are not just a number, where teachers and all staff care so much about each person and do anything they can to see them succeed, even if it is just asking them how their day is going. I see a school where every student has at least one teacher or staff member that they are close enough with that they could talk to them about anything. I see guidance counsellors who help students every step of the way to ensure that they can attend college. I see a school where students take A.P and pass the exams with 4s or 5s. I see a school where students graduate to become lawyers, doctors, performers, chefs, business owners, and so many other things.
I see a school that has had 100% graduation rates. I see a school that has graduates going to prestious colleges all over the country. I see a school where fights are not a regualr occurrence. I see a school where middle schoolers and lowerclassmen look up to upperclassmen because they are kind to them. I see Pirate Pride. But above all, I see one big family that will always be there for us even after we graduate. I may be graduated now, but I would not have wanted to spend the last 6 years in any school but Parish Hill, and I am grateful for all of the experiences that I had there.

So that is my view on it for anyone who cares about the students because to me it is not all about the money. (Closing it will not save you tax money but that is an argument for a different time I suppose)
