I realize my letter to Santa is 3 months and 20 days early. But, why wait? I want to avoid the rush. I've never been one who believed in fairytales or superstition, and I'm not too sure about karma. However, if there is a Santa, I want to write out my list.

Dear Santa,

My name is Denise N. Parker. I don't want you to put a sable under the tree for me, but I've been an awfully good girl. Over the past 10+ years I've done my best to reach out and help those in need of help. Also, during that time period, I confronted many personal obstacles; one of which is my health. Now, I'm in need of some help. In 2005, I sustained a back injury that has left me with chronic, intractable lower back pain and sciatica. In order to manage my back pain I've had a spinal cord stimulator implanted, have epidural injections, use topical and oral medications and regularly follow-up at a pain center. I currently do not have my own vehicle and rely on a car-sharing program. However, several times this year, this car-sharing program has messed up my reservation, causing me to miss my scheduled follow-up visit at the pain center; resulting in an increase in my back pain. I need a reliable vehicle in order to get back and forth to my medical appointments and the pharmacy for myself and for Pooh, my K-9 companion.

I would also like to have a house - in or near Philadelphia, PA -with a backyard for Pooh to run around in. Out of necessity we moved from a house to an apartment shortly after my back surgery. I'd like our home to be a single house in a diverse neighborhood with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, gas heating, a kitchen with modern conveniences and a backyard - with a privacy fence or wall - with grass and trees.

Last, but not least, I'd like to get married. I'm currently single and not in any relationship. The man I envision is close to my age (which is 45), kind, compassionate, MUST love dogs and get along well with Pooh and Pooh MUST like and trust him. He must have a wonderful sense of humor, be frugal but not cheap, be a healthy, non-smoker with a good BMI.

Thank you Santa. :)

Kind Regards,

Denise N. Parker
