Life is so difficult. Everywhere you turn it's some new stress; you're fighting with someone, you don't have enough money for that bill, that job you have just cut your hours, etc and nothing can really help you cope.

You've tried going back to old hobbies you once enjoyed but now they just seem dull and uninteresting. Nothing you once held dear has the same meaning anymore, and neither does life.
That feeling of being hopeless and alone is an emotion that seems to stick. No matter if you're even surrounded by people you love, you still feel that same empty feeling inside, overthinking those same thoughts you have when you're alone.

Nothing about depression is easy, it'll be a fight you'll always have to face through this short life we live. Tough decisions will have to be made and things will never stay the same the older you get. Getting a grip on just how fast-paced this life is is stressful in itself. Though, that doesn't mean that hope is lost.

Life is not and has never been about staying in solitude all day feeling emotionless and empty. It's also not about having some grand adventure and being happy all the time. Letting life pass you by has never been the way to spend the gift that you've been given, which is time on this earth. Every one of us is here for a reason whether you've realized what yours is yet or not. Your moment will come where you find out why you were put here in the first place.

Life never stays the same, which is good and bad. Always understand that bad times are sure to come but they never stay. Remember that the good will always out-weigh the bad. That escape you've been craving is out there waiting for you, but it's up to you whether you get up and find it or not. No one else controls your decisions for you.

Learn to start living in the moment and how to let go. That anger or sadness that happened in the past should be left where it is. Don't bring bad past experiences or resentments to the present. Don't ever let that time in your life dominate who you are today. You're a different person now than you were then, and you will continue to grow and become better.

Accept that your interests and feelings won't stay the same forever. Maybe in the past you liked some certain thing but now you have no interest for it. That is perfectly fine and normal, what interests you will consistently change and you have to be willing to accept that. Find something new that you love doing that will help keep those nasty negative thoughts at bay.

Lastly, your thoughts don't control you, you control them. This concept is one of the hardest things to grasp and put into action, but it can be done. Having a change in attitude will change your life and perspective. If you want to get better, always remember that you're never alone, bad times will pass, your friends and family love you much more than you think, leave the past to the past and most importantly, learn to love yourself.
