POLICE LIVES MATTER

The united states police. Our first line of defense against criminals. They uphold the law and serve their country just like any soldier. BUT, our nation has seemed to forget that. We have time and time again, slandered their name, like it was nothing. Like we weren’t ruining families, ruining American lives.

When a shooter began firing on two Baton Rouge police officers in a July ambush attack, Deputy Sheriff Brad Garafola managed to take cover behind a dumpster. After calling in the attack on his radio, however, Garafola left his covered position, charging into the street to help the wounded officers. The shooter, armed with an assault rifle and a semi-automatic pistol, kept on firing, killing Garafola, Corporal Montrell Jackson and Officer Matthew Gerard.

This can be tied to the novel “the crucible”. Something happened, people overreacted. A corrupt cop did a crime, all of them are bad. A few girls danced in the woods, now somebody HAS to be a witch. Hysteria is a big part of our culture, even if people won’t admit it.
A man fired more than 100 rounds at sheriff’s deputies early on Sunday, killing one and injuring four others, before being fatally shot himself in what authorities called an ambush. Two civilians were also injured. Sheriff Tony Spurlock of Douglas County said the shooting occurred at a home at the Copper Canyon Apartments, a landscaped complex in Highlands Ranch, 16 miles (28km) south of Denver.

The united states have brave men and woman to protect them. We treat them as the enemy, and this needs to stop. This letter is to anyone thinking of disrespecting the police in any way. The police serve us, not the other way around. They don’t defend, unless needed to. They only do their jobs, nothing more.
