Dear Best Friend,
I am writing this letter to you to let you know how much i love and care about you. You know everything about me and still choose to be my friend anyways. I know I'm not good at showing my feelings so believe me when I tell you I love you. You know me better than anyone else I know.
I know I am crazy, aggravating, childish (at times), and not the best at being nice or giving advice. I just wanted to say thank you so much for always having my back and never leaving my side. Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on when I lost Papa. Thank you for answering my phone calls and not judging me when i tell you the stupid things I've done. Thank you for giving me advice, even though I am too stubborn to listen. Thank you for being the one person in my life I know I can count on more than anything. Thank you for helping me deal with the crazy people that I share the same DNA with. Thank you for never giving up on me.
I also want to apologize. I know that sounds weird coming from me. It took me time to realize everything you've ever told me was to benefit me. I'm sorry for getting on your last nerve. I'm sorry for never telling others to stop talking about you, even though you did that for me. I'm sorry for never listening to your advice when I should have. I'm sorry for being mean when you did nothing to me. I'm sorry for ignoring you and making you mad.
I want you to know that the past almost 11 years have been nothing but crazy miracles that I wish to cherish forever. If we ever stop becoming friends I want you to know you'll always be the person who was closest to me. Now, I hope we don't ever stop being friends because I love you. You have helped me when I needed you most. Thank you for never leaving me to figure things out on my own. Thank you for always loving me.
I love you dearly and hope I never ever lose you. I don't know what I would be doing if I had never met you in Kindergarten.
I remember the first time we met, it was in Ms.Shockley's Kindergarten class. I had just moved from Wilkinson County and they sat me right in front of you. You didn't like me so you kicked me everyday, which was painful. But then one day you finally started to like me and you invited me over to your Granny's house and we played for hours. To this day I still remember her house number. I remember the time we were sitting in a tree and you sat on the thinnest branch and it broke. You fell and started laughing. I started laughing so hard I rolled out the tree and hit the wooden swing, I got all scratched up. I remember the first time I met your dog Shaloh. That dog had me terrified, even though I was 3 foot taller. It was never hard to find one of us throughout our lives, in school and out of school, because where one of us was the other was there too.
I love and cherish you Gracie.
Love,
Your Best Friend
